Seems like a strong reaction to me. I personaly couldn't care less what kind of hairstyle another guy has. Occasionally I will think that someone looks like a douche becuase of their hairstyle, but the sight of one making you "want to vomit" seems a bit excessive....

Perhaps there are deeper emotional issues here. Did you perhaps have an uncle with a ponytail that hugged you a little bit too much and for too long when you were a kid?

Back in the day, when I was studying glam photography, I had some instructional VHS tapes of Ken Marcus and he had a ponytail. So, I thought it would be cool to grow one myself. Had it for a few years but when my hair started falling out on top, I thought it looked funny, so I cut it. I have some pics of me with it from years ago when I was an assistant on a Billy Gibbons shoot (from ZZTop) - I'll see if I can dig one up
