    How important are Alexa ratings?

    My US Alexa rating is 290,087 Is that good or bad?

      it doesn't matter, it's over-rated.

      some sites with 100K daily have 300,000 alexa, while some sites with 5K daily have 150,000, really no sense factor.

              anything outside of the top 20k dont matter.

                                          That's not true. Our site isn't in the top 20k and it makes tons of money. KellyMadison.com isn't in the top 20k and it makes a ton of money as well.

                                                      That's because some sites are fed bullshit popup traffic that they bought...while other sites get REAL traffic. The alexa script counts time on the page and bounce rates too.

                                                      The "fake" traffic is what takes the ranking down because there is 0 time on the site and a 100% bounce rate too.

                                                          So all an all im seeing mixed feelings about the subject. The only reason it would matter to me is if that is what advertisers base the amount they are willing to pay you off of.
