Thanks - I really am a bit stunned - I am on hold now to get the details as I did't really take it in before.

They seem OK about being flexible with the trip if I want to extend it as well. It seems that this guys job is to set these things up for promoters and he is happy to spend their money....

Its weird because I was just on Google Earth and plotting all the places in Africa I wanted to see.

Namibia should be pretty safe - I have survived 10 years in South Africa, so any person with a gram of common sense should be able to enjoy a holiday in Namibia without an incident.

Have never been and never done any research about it but have heard a lot of nasty things lately going on so not on the top of my list.

But maybe some day.

I have been saying for years about doing a trip top to bottom of Africa - There are lots of organized tours doing it, even a whole year travelling....

If you read the sites of these trips there are risks of course but its not as scary as you might think. I will do this free tour and see if I can handle it - If I can then I will do the big one.

I first mentioned I wanted to do the African thing in 2002 on GFY - Its only taken 10 years!! lol
