Doing a great job, too bad rapidgator remains untouched, though.
Pretty much every other 'big' filehost lost their paypal so everyone is flocking there now. Clearly they're doing something right :p |

I said there is warez and porn there. And there is. BTW, how many sites have actually shut down operation since you started? Having a graveyard page on your site with the ones you have managed to totally stop business would be good. |

you can theorize about piracy or be pragmatic and take down those you can, ADK is doing the latter, good on him. |

wow i am surprised that you have raised that much money, nice to see that some people are contributing. |

And why would you quote me? |
Just for the record, I am making nothing doing this. I'd like that to be very clear.

MyDownloader.net have had Paypal terminated, we are going after 2000 Charge and resellers next.

plus, sharing is never going away, the main problem here is the profiting from it. dropbox for example, charges its users not the downloaders. Ask RYC how many percent of the DMCA they send out go to dropbox compared to say oron or depositfiles etc. And finally, they dont have an official support section on wjunction fishing for warez uploaders by offering them money. they, as sugarsync, google drive, icloud, are proper businesses, not some pimpled 15 year old with a bunch of file servers and an obsession of the idea that they are entitled to free music, movies and porn. |
and of course, its still not ok for dropbox and its users to share content they dont own. but it is not! their business model, its though unfortunately an issue that comes along with it, and should of course be fought as well.
once again, the profit issue is what makes this so large scale. |
and finally, again, it doesnt matter if adultking only manages to make a little dent by his efforts. its STILL a positive action. And even then, it would still be fuck loads of more action than anyone else has done.
but, haters gonna hate. |

Very impressive work. On a forum that's polluted with shit talkers, it's nice to see action.

My point in showing how little has been contributed, and the number of contributors, is that despite ENDLESS threads on this matter over the years, very few have bothered to flip you a dime. When it comes to BITCHING and making new threads, there is no shortage of volunteers. But when it comes down to ACTION or flipping a few dollars, it's crickets and tumbleweeds. Here is who has actually replied to this thread. How many flipped you anything beyond a virtual kudos? The point is not the money. The point is that you are doing something that is getting results, and you can get next to NO "industry" support behind you. Quote:

I'll let others make judgements on whether enough has been contributed or not. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed so far.
We're working very hard to keep ongoing costs down so we still have a little bit of money in the bank and countless hours of assistance are being contributed freely through the collaboration system. |

Once someone actually started moving on any of these issues, I would have thought "the industry" would have rallied behind them, and charged forward. It seems that the most that "the industry" can do is post new threads on a forum, and throw you a few kudos. I do applaud the volunteers who may not have any money, and are donating their time to your cause for the greater good. However, considering the number of people who've posted this thread, or those in the past who've created endless "cry for me Argentina" posts about piracy/tubes/Manwin how they have been forced back to a fry-o-lator job, or can't compete any longer... I simply would have ASSumed that more of this industry, especially the cry babies, could throw you a few bucks for your efforts. People who want to complain about piracy, tubes, Fabian and the rest need to realize that YOU GAVE IT AWAY. :2 cents: |
shut the fuck up

Paul is contributing more than most in this thread can say. :thumbsup And sure, Barefootsies you do have a point, a good one, too - but that does not stop CopyControl's group effort moving forward on this issue. It's better and more productive to concentrate on the positive rather than on the negative and every contribution in time, workforce, intel or monetary value is highly appreciated but this fight will continue either way. For anyone that does want to contribute: 1.: Donate your time / workforce: You can leave your eMail address in this thread and someone will get in touch with you, or you can send it through the contact form on SFL and someone will get in touch with you. 2.: You can donate money HERE or by clicking the ChipIn! widget in the sidebar on http://stopfilelockers.com If you want to contribute intel that could help CopyControl's efforts, please also use the contact form Thank you. |

Dealing with all these sites is not as simple as picking up the phone and reporting them, it requires extensive analysis, investigation, collation of data and then reporting. Then the payment processors repeat that process in even more forensic detail. Our successes are seriously disrupting illegal file lockers and support sites. This is evident from the wide range of forums and support sites we are monitoring. |
Exclusivefaile file locker just lost their paypal account thanks to Met-Art anti-piracy team:
http://exclusivefaile.com/premium.html Btw, exclusive fail is the damn worst name of a piracy site that I've ever seen hands down :pimp |

There have been multiple efforts over the years to gather people to fight piracy, all have failed. I was at the first ever piracy meeting in LA years ago. It was packed. That started a long line of failed attempts to get just a few guys together to fight these sites. Instead of making it work and putting in real effort, most of them figured out they could make a few peanuts per title by leasing them to tube sites, so they did exactly that. It's pathetic really. But you are right, everyone let it happen, and continue to do so. I'll also note, there is always anti-piracy stuff going down out of the public eye that others don't know about. A site is quietly taken offline here and there or forced into working with content owners, but no one has ever been this successful before. Not even close. It's exactly the thing many of us have been hoping for. It's just a shame 100% of the industry is not behind it. |
