Its a wild world, Baddog. Nobody cares anymore...

I'll always remember you as a child, so we're cool, right, Baddog? Too bad Cat Stevens is a fucking MUSLIM now. That's gotta suck. But what a voice he has...

        Irrelevant is as irrelevant does...

Sorry - here's the greatest band from the greatest country in the history of the greatest civilization playing the exact same song. I'm a little disappoited that Paul Gilbert didn't yank out the drill and and do the stupid riffing American powertool masturbation solo.

Here's Mr. Big (NOT the tasty chocolate bar) playing a Muslim song that makes you sad Christians happy. Mr. Big. ROFL!

Look at the pouty American rock star. What's his name? Who cares... he is already forgotten.

Another American fail band. Mr. Big < Muslim Cat Stevens. Sad but true.

Is that "John Mayer MP3" link supposed to be at the bottom of the blog? It links to a bunch of random posts like "gardening" and "home improvements".

Anyways, the site design looks good.

Yeah, I asked about that. They are going to eventually monetize it with ads. I was told "The 5% comes from the ad revenue earned."

It sounds like a great service. Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in the FSC and their involvement makes me hesitant. They seem like monkeys swinging on any vine they can get a hold of right now, and don't have the best track record of being successful at what they do, which should only be in the legal arena, not piracy and talent testing. The FSC should not be a Jack of all trades, master of none. If it was only Pink Visual, I'd jump all over this.

Secondly, after reading the press today about their 2nd lawsuit with Slutload, who was supposed to be using digital fingerprinting, it makes me question what went wrong and how can that be avoided in the future. If they were not abiding by the fingerprinting guidelines, why should anyone believe they or any of the other sites will in the future? If anyone from PV would like to clue me in on that, I would appreciate it.

Either way, it has promise and is a well needed service. It's just the FSC that turns me off.

Well, then I guess I am convinced; doing nothing is probably a better idea. Like I said in my article, I am not a content producer, so I was not thinking like one.

                        Sorry.

Sorry on my phone. Short answers:

Fingerprint creation service= free. We get a share of 5% if and when ad revenue is generated. Fingerprint filters help with the major adult tubes and do not apply to torrents. More and more file hosts like depositfiles are also using fingerprint filtering so I anticipate it to become pretty standard amongst those sites.

Random link on blog= someone practicing auto imports of rss feeds lol. Needs to be deleted.

DWB- Re: the lawsuit, it was a copyright and trademark lawsuit. Trademark infringement applied to slutload. Use of fingerprint filters don't make site owners immune to other violations of law.

But did they circumvent the fingerprinting to do it?

Not necessarily. The lawsuit filings say videos were altered - rebranded and rewatermarked, meaning they're not the exact match to the original ones. In theory, DFP should deal with those too, but it depends on what settings were enabled to find matches - for example, DFP was probably set to alert when there is 90% match, while those videos were 80% match and thus skipped under the radar.

I'm just theorizing, because I'm bewildered too.

We don't make that claim or accusation about circumvention.

It's complex because it's trademark law which can involve unauthorized use of or removal of or distribution of.

                                http://www.xbiz.com/docs/xbiz/news/1...t%20052412.pdf

I think Nature of Action, #3 outlines what applies to whom. I can't really say much more because this is active litigation, but I'm sure if you've been on any tube you've seen lots of videos branded with myhotbook, hislut, and thehotloop.

Other than that, all I can say is we wouldn't push or promote a technology that didn't have an extremely high success rate. You can ask a third party like Nate from TakeDownPiracy and how often he runs into our full length videos on filtering tubes compared to other studios.

                                  Got a response: http://gfy.com/showpost.php?p=19029587&postcount=18

The FSC's involvement was crucial for this technology to be used within our industry. Mainstream companies normally pay $10-30k a month for this software. The FSC worked with Vobile to come up with a cost-effective solution.

Our service is not connected to the FSC, there are no FSC workers touching the content or anything. Where they were instrumental and we should applaud them for is that they fought for the industry to have a reasonable technology available for content producers.
