Just get the biggest ones with affiliate programs. If guys are not paid to load, the site won't grow to become a hassle. And besides, the ripple effect of Oron and Megaupload going down (especially when they hand Kim Dotcom his ass), will close a lot of the smaller ones up and make a lot of others be more responsible.

Having said that, if Kim Dotcom walks from all of that and everything is returned to him, that will be a green light for more lockers to do what they want.

According to Damian, no one can succeed because the record industry failed. So the thought of one man doing all of this, simply doesn't compute and will still be impossible, followed be endless drivel about "show me this," and "prove that," and "it can't be done."

Most of which are irrelevant since they don't pay out thus don't attract the prolific uploaders, not to mention few people have or will buy premium accounts there.

You don't have to kill every soldier on the other side, just enough of the generals and the others will surrender.

This has been coming for some time -- let's see how it plays out. The fact that the Hong Kong court froze assets of Oron's owners must be making some people very nervous ;)

Looks like someone might of rolled over (no pun intended) in a CYA manuver ...

Nathan 06-23-2012 02:29 AM

Guys, although I love what Corbin fisher did, pls can you guys at least read the whole fuvking press release!!!!

The judge froze CASH assets and hard assets like servers and domains so they can not be MOVED!!! Nothing was seized! This is a precaution because the judge wants to make sure there are enough assets in case he has to act fast since the amount sued for is considerable. This is frozen until the first hearing where oron can argue why they should be unfrozen!

Until we see what happens at that hearing we will not know the future of oron and even if things remain frozen there is no reason to believe that oron.com will be shutdown anytime soon because of this lawsuit.

What we can hope for is that LeaseWeb sees this as enough of a legal risk to shut them down, but for now sadly I could not convince them they should act fast, and neither has ACIUF... We'll see if this lawsuit helps...

Pornbb is down for a completely different reason!

I'm glad you stepped in.

I was just reading about Pink Visual's lawsuit against Sluload.com and others. RK owns Slutload and Manwin recently merged with RK, so now Manwin is in the middle yet again of some scandalous shit where someone at Sluload (Manwin) is removing Pink Visual's watermarks and re-branding them.

Considering slutload was using digital finger printing, and now part of Manwin, how was this possible?

And I'm guessing it's probably based on your past settlement and their agreement to only speak of Manwin in a positive light, they did not mention "Manwin" anywhere in the new suit. I gotta hand it to you guys, you are playing a perfect hand. Never tarnish the Manwin brand. RK did it. :thumbsup

It is a huge achievement. The fact that they can put their hands on a Hong Kong bank is impressive.

As you are well aware, the whole purpose of setting up shell corps and holding companies is to protect your assets, which apparently didn't work in this case. That should make a lot of people's ass pucker.

Nathan 06-23-2012 03:14 AM

DWB, totally agree, as I said, the Hong Kong fact is the biggest thing here, the freezing of assets in the US for 1-2 week is likely going to not change much.

Regarding your post about how RK owns Slutload and what not...

1) I have not yet seen a press release about RK and Manwin completing a merger, have you?

2) I have not yet seen a press release stating what assets will be merged either, have you?

3) All I have seen is an article that did not come from us which states a filing in Austria which has to take place prior to any such acquisition or merger happening. PRIOR is the keyword here...

So no, you are completely wrong that Manwin is in the middle of some scandalous shit... first of all PV's lawsuit against Slutload is far from Scandalous, its just the same thing they've been doing for the past 2 or so years... nothing new. second, we have not, and will not be buying Slutload. We are not interested in the site, its not good enough in our opinion.

Yea, my guess is all his cash is sitting in HK. I wouldn't be keeping it in the USA, that is for sure.

I stand corrected. The release was to announce the merger notification, not the completion of a merger.

I guess I'll let you slide on this one. :winkwink:

Nathan 06-23-2012 03:30 AM

Thank you DWB ;)

Regarding HK... problem is its only up to 3 million.. FF Magnet I am sure has more than that.. A site like Oron likely makes around 500k-1m a month in profits, at least it has for the longest time... depends on how much they take out of the company each month I guess... So we'll see... it is at least relatively likely that FF Magnet still has enough cash available to pay their hosting and affiliate program for the next couple of weeks if not months...

I hope their lawyer sucks ass, or that I can convince certain people that losing the power cable to their racks is a good idea...

Only speaking for myself, but if I was making 500k a month and doing so with that sort of a high risk business model, I would have various bank accounts under various companies, under varies nominee names, in several counties. Cyprus, Lichtenstein, Hong Kong, or where ever. I'd also have a lot of easy to sell tangible assets in the event my cash was frozen.

So you may be right, he may have plenty more sitting elsewhere. If he has 1/2 a brain, he would.

Nathan 06-23-2012 03:51 AM

This has so many benefits for those taking action, the cost might even be well worth it.

1. As you say it clearly shows these people doing the uploading they're not going to get left alone.

2. It also puts file servers on not notice not to fuck with the plaintiffs. Forget a court deciding yes or no. They don't want this problem down the line. They will do their utmost to avoid it. This might even provide a loop hole in their DMCA protection. So these companies will get their content less pirated on these sites and others.

3. It also deprives many of an income for a few weeks or months. Uploading and spamming it around piracy forums is their job. They have bills to pay.

4. Processors are dragged in. Do they want to be fighting these fights over and over or just drop these guys?

5. It clearly shows the weak points. The money flow.

6. PR. It's telling the customers and affiliates of these companies we will fuck with those that fuck with us.

7. So much nicer than bending over to these ass rapers and just blurting out excuses or saying nothing when asked a direct question.
