You know whats funny! You will not believe it, but we actually DID have an issue with our toilets! We had to add 2 more stalls each female/male on our ground floor because we are building a cafeteria and thus need more toilets there!

SZNY 06-16-2012 08:56 AM

Lool for sure some people are now very curious what the total toilet count is :D

Yawn.... Back to derail another good discussion thread I see. Typical of burgerflip. (rolls eyes)

It figures you would have nothing of value to add to an actual business discussion. Although that is not really surprising to the rest of us to be honest. Now go along an make us some more .50ct iphone apps. Sell a couple of dozen before noon, and you can buy yourself a happy meal on your lunch break.

:winkwink: :winkwink: :winkwink:

Carry on.

Please make sure you update Paul on the new count, as he is keeping the official tally.

I am looking into submitting them to the dmca database being discussed on xbiz.net...

Then set up your own department to deal with this aspect of fighting piracy. We need more than a one pronged attack.

You're not showing them to me, you're showing them to all of us. If you can't figure out the good it will do you. Get a PR man to tell you.

Although I like the fact that it worked this time, I do not think this is a wise idea to do. 1) It will attract unneeded attention by Visa and MC to the whole adult industry and 2) The processor can always claim that people are not buying the CONTENT, they are simply buying the premium membership to the file locker. That there is illegal content on the file locker is secondary.
You're side stepping the issue. Unwarranted attention. In the event that the credit cards ban all online porn. MW is made. You'll be up there with the industry giants and will over take them. Online isn't the only way to sell porn.

Quote:

I am however setting up an semi in-house department right now which is going to do something similar, yes.
Good, then use it as PR. That for MW is a big bonus.

Quote:

Uhm seriously, I dress however the fuck I want to. IF you have a problem with that, thats your problem... The "kid" that did the xbiz seminar enjoyed it, and got a ton of positive feedback after the Q&A.
You're not dressing to please yourself, do that in the office. You're dressing to be in front of an audience you want to appeal to as the top man in a big company.

Quote:

He has no issue doing it again, the same way. He reacted absolutely correct to all questions thrown at him after Mike's remarks. The seminar was absolutely what we expected and went quite tame at the end to be honest... Just because Mike and his friends here post and laugh how bad it looked, does not mean nobody liked the seminar. It was one of the most visited seminars at xbiz miami and got far more than 90% positive feedback from the attendees.
Seriously, get a PR man.

Quote:

We have PR people, and if she is reading it she is likely shaking her head in disbelief... ;) And even if I would write "Hello" it would rattle certain people up here, and I am not going to let people deny me to speak my mind, especially not after lies get thrown around by people like Mike South as if its all fun and games... I do not care if I get flamed, it does not hurt me...
Then listen to her.

It might not hurt you, it doesn't help MW.

Require people who wants to upload content to provide proof of identity and address.
then tell them they are free to upload whhhhaaatever they want, as long as they have the rights to it. Also make them aware of that in case of a DMCA coming one for for said content, their! contact details will be handed over.

that should still cover your safe harbor right?

It's not only about what you like. It's about respect for the audience. Dressing like this at best shows arrogance.

http://paulmarkham.com/temp/fabian.jpg

Dirty shoes, old jeans which look like they were bought from a charity shop, what's with the white mark? Get jeans that look like they haven't been in bought second hand, buy some decent loafers. hoodies are fine. Just don't turn up in the one the janitor loaned you.

You announced a 9 figure loan or investment. How much are a new pair of Levi's, new loafers and a decent hoodie? T-shirt. Don't even start me on that. What happened to the money? Been 6 months since you announced it.

Another good idea. However, that is basically putting Manwin in the legal/compliance/enforcement business. Which I wholeheartedly believe they are trying to avoid. Again, I am not saying it's right or wrong. They have a business to run.

It's the same reason that ISPs are fighting some of the new proposed laws. Why would they want to be put into a position, forced by law, where they have to hire additional staff to manage all of those claims?? When some companies have razor thin margins, why would they want to bring legal/compliant/extra people on staff to clean up the mess?

Ultimately, I think that is what the biggest issue in this fight is. Who is going to PAY FOR IT. Whether it's an ISP, Google, Manwin, whomever it takes staff to do these things. All of those things come with a cost, and that does not even get into the legal aspect of liability.

Record, media, porn companies all want enforcement,... but no one wants to pay for it. Until all of those things can be answered, you are always going to have push back from the various different interests. Neither ISP's, search engines, nor billing companies, want to be the internet police.

:2 cents:

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-16-2012 09:22 AM

Intellectual property theft is a criminal offense, all this law/yer talk stinks of methane.

I'd say its a cost that comes with when u decide that this it the kind of business u wan to run.
kind of like like when u decide to shoot porn, u gonna have to caugh up the cost for a camera.

if not, then one can always put the money in to creating ones own content and not rely on others to provide it.

Also, my "idea" above is of course a semi joke. in theory its great, but in reality it does not work. not at all. 100% does not work, and im not saying that because i think it, i say it because we have tried it.

I don't know John personally. I just use NATS. And I know that you were an employee who has been gone a long time. And NATS has been re-written a lot of times since you were gone. That's all.

And keep up the good work! You give hope to hundreds of millions of people who have no experience in a particular line of work (porn in this instance) and who are just employees making a salary... that they too can one day magically have a hundred million dollars and be a huge "success" like you! :thumbsup

You truly are an inspiration!

All the things you did and built in the last couple of years and the new ideas and...oh wait a minute, that's right: You used magic money to "acquire" a bunch of pirate sites and then bought up a bunch of other companies that (ironically) were so crippled by piracy that it was low hanging fruit. You've never actually built ANYTHING from the ground up.

Sorry. :disgust

Right, magic money :)

Btw, I never was an employee of TMM (NATS). I owned 1/3rd. But that little detail which I said multiple time to this day completely passes you by ;)

And yes, all the sites and companies I bought were crippled... Totally! I love you Robbie :)

That was some interesting whois screenshots in the thread you had yanked from gfy in record time.:2 cents:

Your recent shift towards respectability is easily explained, after acquiring so many programs Manwin would actually profit from a slowing down of pirac., doesn't mean me we should all forgive and forget.

Phoenix 06-16-2012 11:57 AM

i like deck shoes, i wore them a lot in university, like 15-20 years ago.
Fashion is cyclical. Just wait the Rat tail will be coming back, whoever is still rocking the rat tail , is going to be super cool one day.
lol

Nathan 06-16-2012 11:57 AM

Slapping, I did not yank any Threads. They also showed absolutely nothing in connection with Manwin.

They did however show a connection to both the owners and the host... Wonder who yanked the thread....

Sorry, I thought you were a programmer. Okay...you owned 1/3 of NATS when it first started and wrote the original program? That's something you can really be proud of.

Now, the hundred million dollars that you "borrowed" in the middle of the biggest world wide economic crisis of our lifetimes when banks worldwide were withholding credit? That's another story.

And excuse me...Digital Playground wasn't crippled compared to what they once were?

Twistys was still making money like it was 2005? (Though Twistys was probably doing a lot better than DP was by that point).

Playboy's online presence was kicking ass? (have to admit that they were barely treading water even BEFORE piracy lol)

Hey, I'm not saying that getting those sites wasn't a VERY good idea. I'm just saying that you got them for pennies on the dollar compared to what their worth was BEFORE piracy went berserk. Low hanging fruit.

But if you want to spin it like you got them at the top of their game then be my guest.

Doesn't really matter. Things will play out one way or another.

Bottom line is...you're living the high life now. But every accomplishment you've listed, and every bit of money that you've spent has come in a BIG part from the work of others that was pirated and put up on your tubes.

I earn my money from my work. You earn a large part off other people's work.

papill0n 06-16-2012 12:01 PM

Afraid he's finding out that the consequences of all this piracy and full scenes for free means NOBODY is making the kind of money that should be made legitimately.

Irony is a funny thing.

Peter Romero 06-16-2012 12:09 PM

I thought Nathan was the geeky looking guy with glasses that went crazy with the police in West Hollywood? Sorry, I (and all the other porn producers on earth) lost my ass, shirt, and ROI with all the tubes and torents. I don't get on GFY often. I know it's alot of work to be honest and not steal but at least I sleep at night knowing I did my best to be fair and not rip people off.

Oh and Fabian/Nathan just remember the golden rule of porn: Every day a new girl turns 18 looking to make some fast legal cash doing porn, and every day some guy sitting on a mountain of smut gets sick of the played out shit and wants some more. What then? We can invent new niches, make new sites, scout models, shoot, direct, edit, & upload.

What can you do? You can't even run your own shit correctly. Too much work? Please... get to work - we've all worked for 10 - 20 years all for nothing thanks to you. You owe all of our kids thier college money and our retirement $$$. Too much work... fuck you. I have more ambition in my little finger than you do in your whole corporation. Get to work lazy ass.:321GFY

Nathan 06-16-2012 12:11 PM

Robbie, whatever I reply to you, you won't believe it anyway... But twisty's was pretty much as high as they ever were, DP had lost a bit from Pirates days, but that's obvious, playboy is a very strategic transaction, has little to do with where they were or why... And there are others coming that all are on their top of their game... Just like our exclusive products have never been stronger...

The traffic of our tubes obviously help, but that traffic is not built on user submitted content, considering less than 20% is actually user submitted on the tubes... Btw. I started acquisitions before I bought mansef's assets... And it took us 10 months to get our loan facility, and it cost us a lot of money. It is also more than 100 million usd though.. <g>

You DO realize that non-US spammers use stolen content watermarked with their own shitty blog then upload 100s and 100s of videos to PH knowing full well that even if a few are reported and you delete their account, they'll still have those other 100's and 100s of videos available? The one where the crook steals/reroutes water so he can buy land at depressed prices... once the land is acquired he also throws out the other crooks so he can build a town with higher prices without the threat of having done to him what he did to others?

Not a great movie but just thought you should see it :2 cents:
