I have a site idea and a ? for experts

I have an idea for a site that would target a specific niche. I do not have experience in running a site, however. The question is:what would I have to spend just to get it up and running. Then what would it cost to hire someone to run the site if I could not do it myself?

Without detailed info, your not going to get detailed answers.
SIG TOO SMALL! Maximum 1200x600 button and no more than 30 text lines of ALL SIZES and COLORS. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 6240x4800 instead of a 1024x800.

If you don't tell these people something about the site there is 0 chance they can help you. I can start a site for free. I can also start one for $50,000. Don't worry so much, not many of the people here that can make something work would steal an idea.

I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.

that was my basic question-what would just setting a site up cost? If I understand you correctly, it would not cost much-but what about the hardware requirement for it?

it depends... if you are shooting custom stuff, i would say you will need to do 8 shoots or so... minimum $2000-$2500 for content alone.

                  plus other costs...

use an AVS for hosting and billing to start - they take a flat % of sales, and no overhead for bandwidth or space.... good way to start free.

The thing of it is if you are that clueless on how to start a site, why are you worried someone will steal it? As soon as you release it someone will copy your idea. It is all a matter of who markets better in the long run...

Be careful there are a lot of people out there who will take your money and not care a single bit if you are successful or fail.
