So Anna and I just had a very long ICQ discussion and who'd have guessed that I think it's possible we might actually come out of this as friends. Ultimately, she stuck her neck out for someone that probably should have done it themselves.

There's a lot in all of these threads that could have been handled differently and I believe that she understands this and where she went wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a kinder, gentler Anna on GFY. I also believe that she will do the right thing with regards to the issue of the 8-Bit icons, in the interest of taking care of her clients and doing the right thing.

I apologized for being an asshole, she admitted that she was being cunty and we hugged and made up.

I haven't used her though. But I will NEVER base my business contacts on anything from GFY. Been here for 11 years and seen my share of so called "fucking jerks who deserves nothing good" do excellent jobs for me. I wouldn't say your attitude would land you jobs on GFY if you look on your constant fights with the God of photos, Paul the Alien, yet I would. I don't judge you on your board persona. I repeat Fris is giving away or selling work that the creators currently rely on for sales. Entire software packages not a single icon from a 30 yearold video game. She didn't even rip the main character Mario. lol.

Fact 1: nobody gives a shit about the fucking mushroom. It is fake drama, smokescreen, nitpicking.

Fact 2: People who are trying to do business will not care about every personal detail of their designer. Designers are supposed to deliver designs at a cost that is within budget in a reasonable timeframe. Everything else is filed under "who gives a shit" unless you are trying to make friends, in which case I understand Facebook is handy.

Fact 3: People who want designs will continue to use Gimme-Website regardless of any oversized mushroom favicons or tiny green penises because they will start looking around here and find:

a) Suzanna - take a look at the pricing and decide to shop around a bit
b) (someone I'm not gonna name because he's cool but slow) - Be impressed by dirt cheap pricing then hire him and watch him blow through 3 or 4 promised delivery dates with no contact.
c) Two or Three other guys who quote an hourly rate and can't give a clear indication how long its going to take them.
d) Finally talk to GW who does eye-catching designs, quotes reasonable prices, realistic delivery dates and then actually gets it done.

Fact 4: Being a designer requires a person to be an artist first, a coder second and if you are going to get any business done at all a promoter. All of those 3 roles favor personality types who are very likely to be in conflict with one another.

Ana is an artist. Artists draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources, and some of their work ends up looking a lot like that source. They are also tempremental and can sometimes behave in ways that don't seem logical or that don't help the promoter aspect very much.

In the end its the delivered designs that count and not some rediculous non-controversy about a mushroom or some tangent she went off on to protest what she saw as code theft.

Anyway Ana designed my first paysite in 2008 and and shes designing my most recent one now. She has done quite a few projects for me in between. I have been out shopping for other designers multiple times and I always come back to her because nobody else can deliver the same quality at her price and in the time frame quoted.

No, it is not nintendos mushroom. It is an 8 bit mushroom that is part of a icon set for a gaming style background. It is supposed to look familiar..but not intended as any association.
And no association is implyed.

I will take critique from another designer as they know what they are talking about in respect to Photoshop techniques. You clearly do not....
