When was the last time you volunteered your time to help someone else?

The homeless guy we help (not with cash, but things he needs) gave us a busted stereo as a token of appreciation today. Assumed it was stolen and threw it in the trash but he will never know that. We graciously accepted it.

I also know a couple of people in downtown that constantly help those homeless peeps (even though they usually don't want anything or ask), they usually like to just be left alone..

I'm not into that unless it's a friend or family. I need to know my time is appreciated.
I don't believe in Karma or Heaven so I'm not doing good deeds for that. Edit: I would like to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity tho. That type of work I find interesting so knowing that i'm helping a family is more of a side benefit. |

I give money to a local charity that rescues animals and helps stray dogs and cats find new homes after their idiot owners leave them behind when moving to a new home. Fucking bastards.
