We can. We have a motion master CNC router for plastics. It's a large table. It can handle a piece that's 5'w x 10' long.

I could've said 57 billion jelly beans. It's my way of avoiding talking about costs.
But you are correct. It was not $55m. If it got leveled by an F5 tornado the replacement cost would be around $55m...

They are both going on the market next week. Along with that there is a 6 acre piece of land that is across the street from the new plant that I am going to list. It's zoned I2 and that makes it valuable here.

Lace 06-09-2012 05:57 AM

Congrats on the new building, Minte!

Made a great choice not keeping all of your eggs in this industry. Not many can say the same.

Keep on keeping on :thumbsup

Congrats Minte. The Packers are still going to lose to the Bears this year though :winkwink:

.

When I first walked into the plant it was almost scary huge. It's 32' high inside and there is a large mezzanine in the center that's around 100'w x 250' long. THere is a lunchroom, restrooms and employee lockers there.

We are only going to start out using around 200,000 ft of the space. I figure it will take at least the end of this year to get organized. If it feels right I plan on leasing out 150,000 of it on a longer term lease and keep the rest for any immediate growth needs.

Thank's Baddog, I'm glad someone still remembers my sites from the softer side of the adult industry.

Please provide an accurate restroom count so Paul can tell us all if you are doing well or not. hahaha

Congrats on the new acquisition. :)

I do hope the guy who used to run deliveries building to building finds something else to do and remains employed.

Not trying to be mean. Just wondering what compelled you to come to GFY with this news about your life outside of the adult industry.

I'm 100% in the adult industry as are at least 1% of the people on here.
The other 99% of the posters here work in fast food restaurants and can't relate to what you're saying either. lol

i still smile about your "if i dont know someone he cant be big in this business"

MaDalton 06-09-2012 06:18 AM

and congrats, Minte! does it come with a bigger garage? hehe

SteveHardeman 06-09-2012 06:19 AM

Congratulations. Nice to see a successful manufacturing business in the heartland of America. Or anywhere, really. :-) Congratulations.

Congrats! But you still live in....Wisconsin! :winkwink:

Brad Mitchell 06-09-2012 06:58 AM

I remember Minte from way way back.. he didn't even like me, I don't think.. but he was always a nice guy and I'm still excited for him. I think its awesome to see industrial success and growth here on US soil. Not an easy feat! Too bad its not across the lake or maybe we could put a data center in part of it :-)

Brad

Congrats.

No that you've "bragged", you are obliged to share something you've learned along the way to that had helped you be successful. :)

justinsain 06-09-2012 07:10 AM

Sounds like you're going to be able to upgrade your ride.
If you can fabricate a couple of blades underneath the Gallardo I'd be willing to take the lawn mowing job :)

Congrats on being able to progress especially in the current state of the economy :thumbsup

P.S. I really miss the car threads. They were the last bit of sanity :(

No,we are not unionized. The building we bought was a union company. That's why the owners closed it and moved the work away.

I think we have quite a few minority employees. I know that one of the foreman in the plastics finishing department is a Mexican female.

I keep thinking about swapping it out for an Aventador...but I cheaped out and got a smart car instead. :)

Sorry I forgot to add my <sarcasm> tags.

Unions are a cancer, they had there place in time but that time has long come and gone. The union worker mentality is counterproductive and detrimental to any business, the union leadership are nothing short of mobsters. Sooner or later the company will go under.

I'm curious how often you are approached by them and threatened if you don't allow union labor.

A couple of years ago we hired some fellows that tried to organize our labor force. No one from the company is allowed by law to interfere. At the end of the day there were only their two votes that wanted the union. They both quit shortly after,,

HomeFry 06-09-2012 09:58 AM

Let's all get into the plastics biz! Hey Minte, tell us your secrets! Loan us some money so we can make money too!
