    Judge dismisses contempt charges against truant honor student Diane Tran

    CONROE, Texas - A Montgomery County judge has dismissed contempt charges against a 17-year-old honor student at Willis High School. Diane Tran was sent to jail for a day, after missing about 18 days of school this year. Her case gained international attention after the public learned about Tran's situation - she said she makes all A's, but she works two jobs to help support her siblings.       Should I really care that a high school kid got thrown in jail for missing class? Cry me a fucking river.

              i guess you can't see that this was an injustice. if your ever thrown in jail wrongfully i bet you would want people fighting to get you out.

                  It was for one day. I agree it was unfair but life is unfair at times. Its not like she got beat down or something.

                      again you haven't seen what was going on. she was facing more time and probation for handling a family issue that a court had no business messing with. her parents jumped ship after they got a divorce. so she's stepped up and taking care of her siblings. I see a civil suit coming soon.

                                              She missed 18 days and went to jail???? Shit when I was a high school senior I missed like 42 days just for the fun of it and the sheriff never came knocking on my door

                                                              not all the time. i really dont see why he would put pressure on this asian girl. I would like to see the court records of the students he sent to jail. she did nothing wrong. working and making sure her family is secure.
