I shoot girls all the time who have their own sites, and are not making anything from it.

What dictates the success or failure?

I know some spend the time with linklists, webrings, Yahoo! groups, etc. and do okay.

But it seems like porn stars do best, or girls who have established themself as part of an amateur scene.

What gimmicks work best? Who ya link to? Girls that do gangbangs with their members? LOL.

Or is something like Southern Charms the key, since it provides its own traffic to the girl's sites.

My single-girl sites do okay, but I run an annual AVS site with them all and then upsell to premium monthly rebills.

Are the days of the single-girl webmistress making a killing over already?

They have to market the sites! I'm sure that newsgroups and Yahoo groups and all that helps, but what really makes or breaks a site is having a marketing team behind it to promote the site.

I think most models I meet are not prepared to be webmasters...

and most hooked up with some fan who offered to build them a site, or a wannabe webmaster who figured he would build sites and skim off the total sales of all his girls combined.

of course, both parties think marketing is the other person's job.

Yahoo Groups seem to do shit for conversion, btw. People who want free porn on that level are worse than TGP traffic.

I've got a successful single girl site MelindaTeen.com and the key is to feed traffic from your main site. I created a yahoo group for her but I got sick of updating it, so I feed traffic to my main group. I also do tgps

It's like any other site... It just has to Marketed well and that usually consists of a GOOD webmaster proggy..

However, most chicks that have their own sites, think their pussy is more "golden" than the next and that's their marketing plan... Which doesn't work very well....

I always liken it to the music biz - it isn't about who is the best, it is about who is seen by the most and marketable enough to sway the sales.

Most girls forget that you need to market it to sell it.

Some are rather naive and believe a good sales pitch.

Then they find themselves doing shoots for $150 to pay the rent, while their site averages 3 signups a month.

No, she's not 30... lol. She's really 20. I think you're talking about April... she's hot and I was gonna do AprilTeen.com but I fucked that up big time.

I don't use photoshop or shit like that. I download my images, do instant fix from my camera software and upload it. I also use digital dutch arles but that's for tgp images only. Here's a sample

I would say just have them be themselves !

Non Nude seems to work pretty well !

Yep... exactly! If they are marketed then the girls will not have any problem making money. We used to launch new sites out of Yahoo Groups. It was a good way to go when we did nto hav ethe built in traffic that we do now. Yahoo offered some anticipation for the surfer regarding the site launch date. After the launch we went to focusing on the sites and not the group. We did build fan base that started tribute Yahoo Groups of there own that worked well also.

Solo girl sites require alot of site and personal interaction from the "model". It also requires a least a couple updates a week to show the site is active. So many solo girl sites have models that have let the site go.. making it hard for the active sites to get the surfers atttention. It's not an easy market.

If you have solo sites its good to find them a home with a affiliate program where they can benefit from there traffic and branding. It is a long hard road when trying to do top-100 list and other forms of solo site marketing. Much more then the avarage solo girl site webmasters may under stand. We did that for 6 months and did well at it, but in order to get to the next level you need to go the route we did. Still alot of work.

On your thumbnails, I think it may be losing you some signups. On SweetCuties, some look a bit jagged and you are getting forehead noise on each girl...

I don't believe the non-nude niche is doing THAT well. I think maybe a handful of girls are making cash at it. But most I have seen do full members sites with nudity and such.

And besides, non-nude seems to be propelling lots of underage girls into the scene. Not good for anyone...

In the UK, it seems much bigger.

Still, I get emails from girls occasionally convinced they can make a fortune doing non-nude, and I just do not see it lasting.

Yea, you're right the thumbs on my "our girls" page is kinda fucked up. It needs to be fixed and I'll have my designer do it. When you click on the image, it' clear... it's just the thumbs are sized right.

You've got a cool site... Right now, I've got 6 sites and they all make bank. I'm happy but there's room for improvement. I'm gonna take your suggestion and clean up that page in the next few days.

The sites we review at Carnalia.com are supposed to provide a prominent recip. Most solo girls do the right thing and provide a great recip, but mostly they send very little traffic back, ie they don't have any traffic to send.

Successful paysites need (in order of importance):

1) effective marketing
2) an effective tour
3) unique quality content

Some solo girl sites are capable of getting 2 and 3 right, but what about marketing? Most of the big sites have an affiliate program as the backbone of their marketing strategy. But this is not a viable option for your typical solo girl. If you can only afford to pay your affiliates $7.50 a month recurring, you won't attract too many heavy-weight affiliates will you?
