When i first got in this biz, my thing was mainly scamming sponsors using their clickthru programs to get people to get a password to access my hotline server. I got paid by a few but most didn't, so i stopped.

Came back a couple years later, this time totally legit

I remember back when I was only getting 200 hits a day to my paysite, I had made 330+ dollars with smutcash's ppc...I couldn't believe the ease of how I made that extra cash with a simple moneytable... Right then I was hooked on sponsor programs.

But the check never came :(

Reading how easy it was in the past, well...

makes me wish I had a time machine.

Damn, I did the wrong shit with that phase of my life.

Reading the posts - what is the most money you never got paid?

If it was too good to be true, were you almost expecting never to see a check?

it was not easier in the past

if you didn't make money right now, you weren't going to make money in the past.

I look at now and I look at the past and the work seems the same, if you can not make money now, you would not have made any big bucks back then.

so far, I have been lucky to get paid (knock on wood).

Back in the day, CyberThrill owed me a bit...

For the mostpart though, aside from 2 sponsors I never bothered to get above the minimum with, I am doing okay.

out of curiosity - who ran the first affiliate program?

the first that paid a flat commission per signup?

I remember my first sponsor in '96 - adultcashlink.com or something like that. And Fast Cash 1 from CyberErotica.

Adult cash link had 2 or 3 banners you could use.
And they paid a whopping 2 cents per click :)

I remember I actually had to go to altavista.com and search for phrases like "webmasters make money" to find adult webmaster programs.

And then I found the Ynotnetwork.com
Reading about some guy called Rick Schwartz who changed his nick to Webfather. He was selling banners in return for hits - don't think he does that anymore :)

And the piss wars between Serge and Fantasyman, and everyone kissing up to the board moderater.... KHAN!

Jim's money was really good for me. I think it was ultracash first then changed over. That was a while back. Ultracum rocked. A listing on any tgp was worth money for sure. Thumbzilla rocked.
