    Home Depot Mexicans

    Needed to move something heavy upstairs from the garage. Perfect job for my brothers from down south.

    So, I pulled into the Home Depot parking lot and headed towards a tree that had 3 work seeking individuals huddled beneath it. As I approached, the 3 ran up to the car but then all of a sudden, there were about 18 of them swarming around, trying to open the doors, and talking through all 4 open windows.

    Where the fuck did the other 15 of these bastards come from? Were they piled in the small truck that was nearby like it was a clown car or some shit?

    The chosen 2 "worked" a total of 5 minutes. I gave them each an ice cold bottle of water and asked what I owed them. One guys says "Whatever you think is fair." At this point I handed each of them $20.00 and the other dude asked for 20.00 more each.

    WTF man? You hang under a tree all morning, I pay $40 for a 5 minute job & give you water and you act as if I still owe you something?

    Next time I'll stick with the Croatians down the street. They work harder, never complain, and charge less than they should.

              Excuse me? I've never had a lifetime ban from here. In fact, haven't had any sort of ban from here for probably 8 years.

                      Most of the Americans I know are too fucking lazy to work at all. They love milking the unemployment system almost as much as the Africans.

                                          This was my first time dealing with them. They moved the shit quick and didn't mess up my stairs or walls but I feel $40.00 was more than generous for what they did. I've been told by others that they usually charge $20.00 per hour.

                                          I should have pulled the "Amazing Racist" thing and dropped them at INS.

                                                                              Is there a part of the story you're not telling about how your home is an hours ride and so they actually spent the whole morning with you? If not, here's something to consider -

                                                                              Maybe those two guys felt they were being overpaid already, as 20.00 buys a lot of rice and beans. And so they thought, why not try for more from someone who would pay $20 for 5 minutes work?

                                                                              EDIT: Oh, and, next time negotiate your price beforehand. Only suckers wait til after the job and then ask 'how much'.

                                                                                              I live 3 minutes from the Home Depot. You're probably right about their thought process though. I had already made up my mind what I was going to pay them before I even picked them up. Just wanted to see how fair they were. They failed that test.

Guarantee they'd have moved that thing in about the same amount of time but charged you their "minimum" which is probably at least $100.

                                                                                                                                          Tell them about the job and the pay b4 they get in the car.

                                                                                                                                          Get 3 workers.... fire the weakest one after 20 minutes of watching them work.

                                                                                                                                          The other two will work twice as hard now..

                                                                                                                                          At the end of the day pay them. When they ask for more and they always do every time BTW. I say no

                                                                                                                                          for 5 minute jobs tho might be tough to do this

I moved out of a huge house outside of Toronto to a downtown apartment about 20 years ago. I rented a 3 bedroom storage unit to hold my stuff.

                                                                                                                                                                  Six months later, turns out the movers had put SOME of my stuff in the unit I rented, and the REST of my stuff in some random unit that no-one could find. By then the movers were gone, as was my stuff... and that's how Storage Wars came to be...

                                                                                                                                                                  Of course, the only southern brothers I have camping out at Home Depot are Americans. By AaronM's own admission, those fuckers are all useless and lazy. The movers might have lost my stuff, but at least they moved it... The funny is - they were Mexican.

I gave them each an ice cold bottle of water and asked what I owed them. One guys says "Whatever you think is fair." At this point I handed each of them $20.00 and the other dude asked for 20.00 more each.

You hang under a tree all morning, I pay $40 for a 5 minute job & give you water and you act as if I still owe you something?
