What do you find the "best time of day" for dating joins is?

Strangely,

with webcams I get the majority of my sales BEFORE midnight.. Sales die down after that, this counts for weekends as well.

Usually I see the majority of my webcam sales (PPS) before 7pm.

I'm wondering is it possible to gauge what time of day is best for dating joins, again PPS. I know it's hard to put a finger on it because of the email opt in, and the fact that usually they spend a few days in free mode before they upgrade to paid.

I guess what I'm asking is, what time of day do you think best for advertising dating? For that matter, what time of day do you think best for advertising adult?

I know in a lot of cases, it's not what the typical person would think.. most think late at night, and perhaps it is.. but not from my own experience.

lets assume any country.. and in their own timezone, so we need not count for time zone variances.

In other words,

just assume were talking about the countries native time zone.. as it's easy to do time zone conversions to figure out what your time of day would equal to your geo traffics time of day.

Were just looking for what people notice to be the more active part of the day in terms of their dating joins.

Yea I get what you're saying since to them, the paying user the time zone you yourself (or the site) is in is irrelevant and has no impact on their buying habits

so realistically you can put paying users in 2 groups...

1. the ones that buy almost right away because the ads/landing page etc was enough to convince them this is for them (maybe due to a geo pro that appealed to them)
2. the ones that need some site interaction - some other driving force like some attention from a profile and that can take time - so these are the folks you want to target

there are a lot of factors that could come into play...online activity of other profiles in that area at any given time, if they are on mobile, etc

I'd say a good rule of thumb is what time of day did they signup? or opt-in as you also mentioned? That would indicate a window of engagement, and that'ts what I'd suggest looking at..when are they engaged with either site, when did they first have time ot look and register? that's your window in any given timezone

I completely agree.

I'm trying to compare notes with other webmasters to find out what general time of day they find the most interest in joining.

One would think it would be late at night, and perhaps it is for others. But from my experience alone the trends I'm seeing are much more geared during weekdays from almost morning to evening.. I'd say 8am to 7pm.. sticking to the subject of dating joins.

Hey Diomed, yea and above Eddy mentioned niche, true in many cases...say its a cheating niche site, engagement windows might be split more when they guy has some time ways from the wife...late at night, early morning, hell at work when getting in lol

I don't know the answer to your questions, but I know that this is why you want to track track track from the time that user types a query to the time they make a credit card purchase. You want to track the page, the link, the day, the hour, the everything possible. Anything less is throwing it at the wall.

When someone requests to be served from your server, you should take every piece of data possible from their machine and save it forever to better aid in your efforts.

but I'm looking for more of a "general" understanding of the majority. Most dating that webmasters push is English speaking. Most of it revolves around a similar concept, but not all by any means.

Just looking to get a general idea of what patterns their seeing with their dating joins and what time of day they see the most action. I have some dating experience, too little to draw a well rounded conclusion.

But I do have plenty of webcam experience, and like I said what I see from cams joins are geared more from morning to evening.. but this is on a PPS basis not revshare, so we are just talking about the actual join and nothing else.

Was trying to get a good idea like I have about webcams but on dating instead

Hey Cool, well actually some of the same line of thinking can be applied. I worked for cam companies in the past as well...free registration, free user upgrading or going to private show...sometimes comes down to when they can invest that time in the interaction

for a segment, dating sites just fuel a desire a fantasy...often dating and cams can be just different sides of the same coin

Webcams -- All GMT

As a general pattern: weekdays 15:00 to 17:00
a lull to till 20:00 then busy till 0:30

Mondays have been strong (Topless Mondays). So, sales volumes can be strongly affected by special offers.

Their seems to be a spurt ( no pun intended) 08:00 - 9:30 (morning wood )

Weekends in the afternoons and a bit longer - later in the evening 1:30 or so

On a percentage basis our models do well late night weekends (supply - demand) like at 4 or 5 AM.
