Not sure what started it, but if I was the cab driver I might have done the same thing.... Seemed like they would have done him some serious injuries if they could have gotten him out of the car. They were obviously out of control.

I dont think the guy was taken out on purpose, i think he was hit as the cabbie tried to escape not in a way to purposely injured. Imagine being surrounded by a bunch of people drunk none the less, kicking and jumping on your car, im pretty sure all of us would have done the same.

well from what i see from the start of the video until about the 1 minute mark the cab is just sitting there, no one to his right and could just drive off, like he eventually does after hitting one of the guys. the cabbie was obviously pissed off and wanted some revenge, if he actually intended to run over them, is somewhat doubtful but he was not trying to escape until after he hit someone.

Yea thats true...regardless everyone was at fault in some way; at least from the footage. Hopefully everyone will get whats coming to them...3500lb car = one big ass weapon

You know, I remember a news story where there was a guy who struck a child with his car got out to check if the child was ok and a mob of neighbors surrounded him and the car and beat him to DEATH. So you can't screw with insane people, you just have to get out of there. That looked like a BAD situation was going to happen.

actually it appears the cabbie opens the door somewhat and then one of those guys kick it shut. probably what happened is they were acting like dicks, the cabbie kicked them out, they got pissed threw things and kicked his car, he in turn got pissed and started charging them. they probably felt they could mess with him because he was a foreigner (as most cabbies are). in the end the guys got a taste of what happens when you fuck around and the cabbie will never drive a cab again.

WOW! That guy was really lucky. The car rolled right over him and looked like it went over his right arm and or right shoulder. A couple more inches to the right and his head would have been squished into the pavement. You can see how stunned he was too.

I love Montreal - it is my home town - but it is seriously turning to shit.
