An XBIZ article was quoting your "pearls".

They are now shared with the sheep.

The current business is:

BIG TUBES <-> SPONSORS (CAMS, DATING, CONTENT) <-> BIG TUBES

The affiliates are left out of the equation.

And building a TUBE is not a possibility for the average affiliate, because there is no way you can build a TUBE from ZERO and put it at 50K per day uniques... Even if you have 3K to invest in that expensive script (roger rabbit bunny or something) and design, the script alone is not going to drive traffic to your site. You need to invest a lot of money to get traffic and stil its not quarantee of anything...

Yeah some people build a tube, buy traffic for 3 months and then sell it to some ignorant sucker for 5K claiming that the site has 30K per day. After they sell it the traffic goes down like crazy of course. That's a TRUE RIP OFF to be honest.

I wonder what do affiliates do nowadays in adult? What are their daily tasks? Just wondering.

My ICQ LIST of 2005 (around 200 contacts) are always OFFLINE, only around 10-15 are online from time to time.

ALL SAID.

There is no way to end a model where a skilled person works for commission. 99% of sites dream of having affiliates.

Of course it is dead for someone who never had any affiliates and has member areas with 12 chopped DVDs made in 2001. Who would want to promote that shit? RK, Brazzers, Kink and many others don?t have any problems running affiliate programs and still make profits. Of course they work, produce new content and new tools instead of spending most of their time on boards talking about Obama, secretaries they don?t have and other BS.

Yes, you can still make money as an affiliate, but it is much much harder these days.

Traffic is King. Always will be.

The problem is simple, too many chasing too little and all using the same bait.

I just started to use Linkspun to find links. The blogs are mostly dull with no reason to come back. They all seem to rely on one way of getting traffic. And there are far too many of them so getting traffic from SE is about 100s with loads of sites competing with each other.

Then all the Tubes who want to link with me. I just deny them.

What someone needs to do is come up with an idea that's not easy to copy, will get traffic on top of SE's and is worth bookmarking.

I have such an idea, hit me up if you want to discuss it. I'll never do it 100% on my own, don't need to.

Well, no pun intended, but that's only a fraction of the current business ...

Of course it's more work and more complicated than it was a few years ago, but anyway, it's still working well for a lot of people

Think beside tubes (blogs, etc.) and beside over-saturated sponsors (niche paysites, fresh sites, etc.) ...

Of course if you try to establish a generic porn tube (competing with all the big tubes) and promote livejasmin/brazzers/etc. (the stuff everyone's trying to promote) you'll have a VERY hard time getting traffic and sales ...
