So yes Manwin is copying MET ART / Sex Art...ppfffff

Met-Art (and a couple of others) are in a league of their own. However, they will be Metwin when it's all said and done.

Come on Mike, you need Manwin to keep your site interesting. Got any more scoops on them?

Cheers ;)

1. Not going to praise anything you guys do. Out of principle. Not that it hurts your bottom line in any way - just saying.

2. Is that wallpaper from 2004? Maybe you should splash some Ed Hardy on it too.

uniquemkt 04-29-2012 03:10 PM

Needs more asplosions!

Fap 04-29-2012 04:11 PM

I don't have your direct contact info Mutt.

NETbilling 04-29-2012 05:04 PM

Very nice - We can't wait to start processing for it!

Nathan 04-29-2012 05:49 PM

Mutt, Stephen is under exclusive contract with us. Babes.com will feature content from him and others. He is managing a special team for the B/G shoots, just as you said he does not do it himself. He does 100% guide that team though.

Btw, we are not copying sex-art. We started shooting for this project sometime in the summer of last year.

Looking forward to the launch, we have some awesome content scheduled for release...

I respect your opinion but it in no way accurately reflects mine. I think when someone compliments the concept, or the domain name, it's just an honest opinion. I'd have more respect for someone being honest even when an "enemy" creates something well. Honesty isn't ass-kissing. It's closer to ass-kissing and disgusting when you're the one being deceptive. :2 cents:

Ok, I'd like you to honestly say that BABES.COM is a stupid domain name and actually mean it. You'd be lying if you did.

They're not copying Met Art. They're trying to copy X-ART just like Met Art and Passion-HD have copied X-ART. I think they're all overestimating the importance that hardcore content and super high end equipment has played in X-ART's success. X-Art has done as well as it has more because of passion and vision. Seeing as those two elements cannot be duplicated, the copycat sites just come across as boring, generic sites that try to appeal to both hardcore and art nude surfers but fail at both. Well, at least that looks to be the case with SexArt and Passion-HD. The jury is still out on Babes. Personally, I think it looks cheesy. It was as if I could almost smell the scent of Drakkar Noir emanating from my laptop as I watched the trailer.

ding ding ding

davethedope 04-30-2012 02:25 PM

Seriously, these sites really lack the horny factor.

I would argue there's nothing artistic about sex.

Sex is like eating a juicy steak on an empty stomach, not listening to Mozart.

It's too perfect. Tries to hard to be erotic and there's not sleaze or perversion.

What's more, on the business end, paying "hot" people to fuck is beyond ridiculous, and whoever does needs to have their head checked.

It's a waste of money.

the entire porn industry is based on paying hot and not so hot people to fuck - billions and billions of dollars have been made doing that.

agreed, there will only be one X-Art, it's one guy's vision and talent - doesn't mean that the sites that try to emulate it will suck though. SexArt in my opinion will be a fail, it's the vision of a 69 year old director who created cable erotica in the 80's and 90's, i don't think it will find much of an audience on the web. Passion-HD i'm sure is making lots of money, it's nowhere near the quality of X-Art BUT the scenes are hotter than X-Art - because it's shot by people who know how to shoot hardcore sex.

As much as I admire X-Art's content I've watched a bunch of their scenes and it does nothing for me as jerkoff material. Hardcore should be raw - whether it's passionate or nasty and rough. Pierre Woodman is my porn hero. His casting videos in hotel rooms are real life, real sex. I also like Manuel Ferrara's Raw series - just him and a porn chick in a hotel room or her own home. Nobody else in the room, that's how you get real sex.

My suggestion and the date I made it. you probably had this all planned before I sent the email and you launched the competition. So obviously you didn't need any ideas from me. But good to see we are on the same lines.

Hi Fabian

As for your offer of a shooter.
Seriously do you think any of the shooters on GFY are really top rate?

If you want top guys you need to poach them from the DVD industry, that's where all the top guys are.
Just takes money.

Would you like me to ask Viv Thomas what he would charge to shoot a hardcore scene for you or would you give me a price and I will offer it to him.
There are others like Steve Perry, Jack Harrison who worked for Bluebird and Private.
These guys are always "Guns for Hire" unless under contract, and all it takes is money.

Dave the Dope has no idea of the rules of "Supply and Demand." Nice try though. :)

So you're saying the demand for over-produced, over-budgeted, "glam" or "art" porn is bigger
than that of sleazy homemade "girlfriend" videos you can get for free on thousands of sites?

They exactly know what sells or not. They just have to check their tube revenue stats. Next step is to see what is undeveloped in their assets (like domain names vs content) and focus on that OR acquire some nice domains/programs.

We have similar taste as I really don't like the hardcore stuff on X-Art either. The pics below are better at capturing the essence of the brand.

Also, maybe Babes is why it seems they're repositioning Twistys as a lesbian porn site, something I alluded to here in this post. Never heard back from Ramrod.

https://gfy.com/showpost.php?p=18853306&postcount=82

Interesting business model.

- Spend A Lot Of Money To Acquire A Highly Successful Site Which Has Been Branded As 'The Ultimate Babe Site' For 10+ Years.
- Spend A Lot Of Money To Acquire Babes.Com
- Rebrand The Ultimate Babe Site As A Lesbian Porn Site. Piss Away A Lot Of Brand Equity In The Process.
- Spend A Lot Of Money On The Production Of Babes.com In The Hopes Of Capturing A Large Piece Of The X-Art Market Share
- ?????

Seems like they're getting a bit sloppy, no?

Will be interesting to see what happens. It appears as if Babes.com will likely take more business away from Twistys or Digital Playground than it will X-Art or SexArt. We shall see.

OK Dave let me explain supply and demand in simple terms.

If you have 100 customers, that can get the same or similar product from 10 suppliers, that's 10 per supplier.

If you have 20 who can only get it from 1 supplier, that's 20 for the 1.

Now mix into it the free aspect.

If 9 suppliers are vigilant to keep their content off the free sites and 1 doesn't care. Then a huge hole appears and the 100 customers have the option of getting t all for free.

He get's a lot of traffic for a little while and it all looks good.

Until others go the free route nd 1 hole turns into 2 and then 3 and before you know it sales are shit. because the people giving it away for free are running the ship.

Multiply it to the level of most niches and styles in online porn.

If you have a unique product, that's not given away for free you have a far better chance of getting the sale.

And the guys giving it away for free, end up selling traffic for peanuts.

Very simple so you could grasp the law of supply and demand.
