OK this should make for some interesting responses lol...

But let's say your a little company (that would be us) and you only had $1000 to spend on advertising/promotions... how would you best spend the money ? On what ?

And yeah I know $1000 dont buy you shit nowadays... but we have to start somewhere right, this hopefully is the first step

On short term I would buy plugs on sites with good ranks in serps (to be sure you got quality traffic - much cheaper than to buy directly from google)
On long term: i would invest in seo.

I would buy 5 of those cheap hosting accounts (like 3 or 4 dollars a month if you pay for 3 years) put two wp blogs in each and pay the rest of the money and some monthly fixed ammount(doesn't have to be much) to a guy like me, who would build those blogs handwritten style and program them for 3 years with links to your sites in each post.

In a year, you will rank for whatever term you want.

And if you have more budget, i can build even a bigger and powerfull network.

I wouldn't spend it. My feeling is that it would just be a waste. I say this because you don't quite know what to spend it on. If you have a good system in place that you knew produced results and was profitable, that is where you should invest the money. Until you have a system like that, save your marketing money and instead spend some time learning and testing out various promotional ideas that you may have. You'll find one that works, then you can scale.

Not sure just $1K would buy a skin here, though if you can stretch the budget a tad, GFY might offer a skin run for an abbreviated period, such as 72 hours ... anyways, it's worth a shot.

On a related note, be sure the ad links work in all major browsers, including smartphones, before the skin goes live to avoid the non-clickable ad problems that plagued Find&Try's skin campaign.

Hey... I believe the product is nearly there, we are making some additions/tweaks to it, and we certainly wouldnt spend any monies on it till we was totally happy with everything...

However the sites are converting pretty well for other people, even if with a very limited amount of traffic going through the sites...

So I really do think once every thing is in place, we need to dip our toes in the water and see if we can generate a return on our low budget and step it up...

We have been thinking about things like email blasts, buying ad space, buying traffic... ect ect... But wanted to explore other people's ideas

Skinning GFY IMO is for ballers with much bigger budgets... I am looking to target surfers, I understand the benefits of skinning GFY but that's not what we're looking for... but thanks for taking the time to post

I am looking at generating sales to those sites... sites like www.cuntmunchers.com www.bratsluts.com www.staceyrocks.com ect ect...

I am looking at what I do with the $1000 to be measurable... so I know what return I get, I am hoping that the $1000 grows, and allows me to have a bigger budget the following month, and so on... I know it's not a massive budget but have to start somewhere...

Test a Plug campaign on plugrush. You'll quickly figure out if it's cost efficient for your program. With some good thumbs you can get great value for your money.

5) Measure CPA
6) If CPA is less than ARPU, carry on with those campaigns, if it isn't, change the ads, keep tweaking to improve CTR

Key is VERY VERY good copy writing for the ads.

OK "Traffic" first... doesn't every one say how shit buying traffic is ? If you had good traffic would you sell it... how many times do I see people post that they spent a bunch on massive amounts of traffic and got zero results... no offense to Choker... but I used them before and real bad results... even though the lesson I learnt there is their traffic is probably best for free sites than linking it direct to a paysite...

We really dont need to buy "equipement" we have all we need on that front
