I just make my own using Artisteer. Sure, my themes are pretty plain, but they do what I need them to do and I don't have to worry about any kind of malicious code in free themes that I would get on the net.
just be careful downloading themes not from Wordpress.org
many contain javascript injections
Do you have a system you use to check? Any search terms you use to crawl the files? I downloaded one... said it was 19.95 but then was just able to download it.

bad idea, those themes have nasty code in theme, when you activate a theme, it cycles through your theme dir and adds the code to all themes, so you need to edit all themes you have and remove the code.
it adds comments with an email address.

dont want to link to their site because they dont deserve any exposure, if you have this infected, you need to goto the bottom of your functions.php and remove the neccessary code, once activated a theme with this code, it will cycle through all your themes and add this code, so delete the code from every single theme that has a functions.php file.
when downloading themes from sites other than official source(s) check the functions.php file and header and footer files for encrypted codes, just avoid those in general.
Thanks i just ran that on 2 sites one with a theme from WP and one from one i downloaded from a website. It brought yellow code on both sites no idea what it means.

Green is good. Can't remember if the ones I deleted were yellow or red. I usually run it on multisite networks cause I use so many themes on those

That might actually be a different one than I was thinking about. It's a little more complicated to use. Hang on one second

Punch TAC (theme authenticity checker) into your add new plug ins. This is the one that is easy to use. That other one is good but you have to break things down and on sites that I have had that are really corrupted, it tends to shut down my site before giving me the print out
Sorry about that. Repeat punch TAC into your add new plug ins or at the wordpress plug ins site

if anyone has a theme they want to use, before you use it, send it to me and i will have a look, and remove any nasty code.
I might take you up on that - Have you tried that code check plug-in that someone posted?
It picked up on a couple of things in the theme I loaded locally, but I couldn't see anything really bad. It doesn't like JQuery, could they be hiding shit in there? That would be ez to fix....
Also I would worry about the license on those themes....
