    Stormpay? Yahoo? HELP!

OK, you know the drilll with PayPal. I read a number of posting on this board but responses like 'StormPay is great - we've been using them for 4 months' just don't cut it.

Who is StormPay? Are they affiliated with a Bank? etc., etc., etc.

Is Yahoo payments same as PayPal? Is there a GOOD company that does what PayPal used to do?

    Thanks

      Epassporte sucks, why?

90% of the creditcards are declined, Im having 6 creditcards at my own name, and its only one creditcard from the netherlands. i did get the rest at differnt countries, so my conclusion is that epassporte really sucks.

Yea, epassporte.. a little harder to work with IMO. We have a commerce account with them.

        Stormpay, very similar to paypal.

Yahoo... hope you don't have clients from out of the US. Otherwise, I'm sure they're fine. Read the terms...

We use the first two options.

Yea, we've had some clients with problems.

One guy (United Kingdom) I do about 4 to $5,000 a month in business with him, and he can't get an epass acct, LOL.

I also have a very good Germany client, and a Dutch client who can't use them..

            - epassporte support isnt sending a reply to any email about this issue
            - epassporte cant do nothing, they are saying that, yeah, so alot of banks arnt support ccv good

im thinking epassporte is full of shit and nothing more, i think they have a problem in there ccv system and they are just posting a differnt story here on the forum.

i can pay everywhere on the internet with my 6 creditcard, paypal too, and i cant get a epassporte account.

The bank Stormpay is affiliated with through the GlobalPay ATM card is First National Bank of Central Texas. You get a FDIC insured bank account with the GlobalPay ATM card.

                  The bank is here: http://www.fnbct.com/index.html

Dude, start using babelfish for grammar ok?

I hate to be rude, but all you keep saying is sucks sucks sucks.

No one is making you use ePassporte, if you don't like it then don't use it. There are a tremendous number of people happy with the system, but no one thing is going to be perfect for everyone.

I'm not really sure what your second sentence up there means, perhaps you can clarify it for me?

my only beef with epassporte is the $5 loading fee, and the incremental loading. i called them the other day and the guy said there's no way around it.

so basically, if i want to pay for something that costs $50, i have to load $100. now i have $45 left, and if i decide to pay for that item again, i load another $50. so now i have $40 tied up in epassporte. i mean, it keeps adding up, and i don't like to have cash, whatever amount, tied up in something i just don't use that much. i mean, it sounds like a good program, but this part really irks me. i could even understand a minimum of $50 loading, but why can't i just throw in $55 or something, or $105... etc. grr!

FDIC insured bank account means 0.
If bank bankrupts and needs to be liqudated, dont even count on FDIC to cover losses.

Insured by FDIC" it means that if the bank doesn't have enough money to pay back the people it owes money to, including the bank's depositors, and is closed, the FDIC will make sure all of the depositors get their money, up to the insurance limit which is $100,000. To be insured by the FDIC, a bank must prove it is being run profitably and fairly.

that would be really killer if you could allow arbitrary amounts... i'll concede to the $5 loading fee if it's a must, but after all the paypal fiascos and all, i just don't like having moneys tied up in online payment services. i grew very comfortable using paypal to send payments, and that's what a lot of people are looking for, a paypal replacement.

it was nice to just send someone cash through my bank account/credit card and not get socked.

another thing which came up as kindof a hindering point, which in my case would have been completely solved by the arbitrary funds ordeal, is the registration. it says on your site that the registration is free... and in essence, it is. but, upon creating the account, it was requiring me to transfer $50 into the account. trying to find this information is rather difficult. that's the main reason i haven't activated my account. it would be nice to recieve payments through epassporte from some of my clients, and that was the first reason to open the account. however, $45 to do this isn't very enticing.

so, i was working with someone that i will be doing payments to, so i thought this would be a good opportunity to open the account. but, again i was struck with the having to supply an extra $45 to do this. that's when i called. i can pay this person with paypal, so it didn't seem necessary to tie up $45 just to have the account (and of course the extra $5 ;P).

i'm not trying to bash your program or anything, it looks pretty good. i'm just giving you some feedback on what i see from working with the system.

and, is there a system that you can use to not incur the $5 loading charge? i thought someone around here had said there was/will be... just curious.

iroc -- it's 5% or $5 on the initial load, whichever is greater --

We are working to add ACH funding and withdrawal, it's just a slow process since Visa has to approve the way we set it up as well as the bank.

If you start a commercial account then there is no load fee whatsoever -- you fund the account via wire transfer with a minimum opening deposit of $500, all of which is credited to your account.

I do like the idea of a minimum opener of $50, with user denominated fund amounts over that... it wouldn't get rid of the load fee, but it would allow more flexibility for the users.

I don't consider your posts bashing at all, they are quite constructive and you raise some very valid points. So definitely keep them up

I dunno, I was under the impression that they were making their money as an MLM, not particularly as a payment system -- someone in another thread made mention of a third party they were using for something but I didn't get the details.

I find this hard to believe as yahoo has tons of adult sites and groups.
Post a URL to the terms that state this please as I have not seen it in their TOS.

My only concern with yahoo thus far is can you do recurring payments. I have emailed them regarding that and are still awaiting an answer

I don't know how long you have waited but hopefully you just emailed them today or last night because I wouldn't think you'd want to work with a payment processor that didn't answer emails as quickly as possible.
