New camera for shooting movies

Large sensor cameras being very popular but coming with some problems...

Very bulky kit, difficult to shoot documentary style with critical focus and very expensive heavy zoom lenses.

But how about a 16 mm size sensor ? Bigger than the small sensor camcorders.

Using 16 mm primes and Zooms which are lying around gathering dust and maybe can be bought cheap (before the word gets out).

No problem there with great fast 10:1 zooms and fast T1.4 primes.

Also the quality will be the same full 1920 x 1080 HD as produced by the bigger bulky cameras. In RAW digital negative format.

After watching so many dramas with in focus walls and out of focus actors, a medium format 16mm size sensor camera maybe the future....

Cool little camera, I like it. The native 16mm lenses is a very cool feature, I love that. Price seems a bit steep though, especially with the medium format Black Magic that just got annouced at NAB for 3k.

I'm going to hold off like I always do, the first generation of any camera is never the best way to go. Always wait for Version 2

Waiting is a good idea and see who enters this market.

But once the fad of shallow depth of field passes a 16mm sensor could be a real winner.

It would have a small profile with all the options without the size and weight of the large sensor cameras.
