![]() CHICAGO?After coming to terms with the limited scope of what he can realistically expect to accomplish as president, Barack Obama announced Wednesday a new, more practical campaign slogan that will serve as the cornerstone for his 2012 reelection bid: "I Have Big Ideas But We'll See How It Goes." "My fellow citizens, I stand here today to tell you that, if given a second term, I have very big plans for our nation's future," Obama said during a rally at Chicago's Navy Pier. "Ambitious, forward-thinking plans I will have to drastically scale down based on opinion polls, budget considerations, and political roadblocks, but, you know, I'll see what I can do. No promises, though." "More than likely I'll have to placate political rivals until my bold agenda is a shell of what it once was." Obama added. "And that's what the 'We'll See' campaign is all about. Now let us go boldly forth and compromise our ideals." Saying he intends to give certain initiatives a shot but that it's not looking very good, Obama cited lasting bipartisanship cooperation in Congress, birth-control coverage for all women, and an affordable college education for every citizen as concrete examples of ridiculous ideas that Americans need to put out of their minds, because, according to the president, "We're not living in a fantasyland here." Instead, Obama said he hopes to rally voters behind causes like holding teachers accountable for student performances "while remembering tenure provisions that protect terrible educators from getting fired," imposing a surtax on millionaires "unless of course Republicans fight me really hard, which, in that case, what are you going to do," and an economic stimulus bill to fund new infrastructure that "doesn't have a chance in hell of passing but sure would be nice." "Think of the America within our reach: a nation of entrepreneurs and innovators and dreamers capable of making big plans that will eventually be crushed by acrimonious gridlock," Obama said to smattering applause. "That's the future I see for America, because, let's be honest, that's just how it's always going to be." "Then again, you never know," Obama continued, "If 50 or 60 key people die, there's a chance some of my policy ideas might at least make it past various Senate and House committees. Fingers crossed." Many pundits have already condemned the new slogan, saying that while its language may capture the spirit of the political moment, its rhetoric is too optimistic. "On the one hand, the slogan works because it avoids using overly presumptive words like 'win,' 'tomorrow,' 'future,' or 'better,'" Politico's chief White House correspondent Mike Allen said. "But using a phrase like 'We'll See' is also misleading, because it implies there is a slight possibility that something could happen. Unfortunately, voters need to realize that, at this point, nothing they could ever envision for the future?and I seriously mean nothing?has any chance of ever becoming a reality. |

I really don't understand the refusal to admit when your "team" is 0-14. I liked governor Bush. I wanted him to do well as president Bush. He didn't. I can admit that. Unemployment averaged around 5.5% during the Bush years and conservatives can say that's not great. Three years later, why can't liberals admit that 8.5% is a problem?

It has been clearly stated that the first objective of the GOP was to have Obama fail, even if that meant hurting the country ... ' The party before the country ' .. I myself have not voted once for the same party in the last 3 federal elections we had ... I do not vote to ' win ' , I vote for what I think is best for me & the country ... ![]()

The damage was already done, and correcting the runaway train that was handed over is obviously not an overnight job. It's like me hitting my ex-wife in the repeatedly in the face with a shovel. Then telling her new husband that it's his fault she looks ugly now.. and finally blaming him for her recovery taking so long because it only took a few moments to fuck up her face so the fix should be just as quick... lol

Obama seems like a man that knows how to give a good speech. He has no accent and he has no speech impediment. He reacts to his audience well. He mentions friends and work histories in his speeches. He talks about how to get more jobs and decrease unemployment. He talks about making health care more affordable. He talks about making healthcare maybe more similar to Canadian system. He talks about importance of energy for North American homes. Everything sounds good. Probably these speeches benefit the rich more than the poor. A lot of the system really is about who has the money.

It's common knowledge that Boener and the rest of the republicans #1 priority is to get Obama out, so they will do anything to accomplish this no matter what damage it causes. They have also learned that lying and flip-flopping works.
I hope Obama wins in November but considering how puppet Romney is doing I think Obama and dems have alot of work to do. It will be a close race.

since obama keeps fucking his base up the ass, and appealing to the right and center, it will be his own fault if he loses.
I wont vote for that fucking uncle tom. fuck him and the corporations whose dicks he constantly sucks. all the republicans have to do is get out the vote, and not be such rabid religious moralistic anti-female old fartbags, and they have a chance, despite the polls that put that hahahahahaha 6 points ahead of white obama "Obamney". on paper obama looks like a lock, but if all the people like me who hate his banker puppetmasters refuse to vote for him, you idiot republicans might win. then what - ROFLMAO - look what you brought to the table. Fucking Obamney, the mormon obama. |

Can you? Or did I get it wrong? It's all over the news, Obama's game plan is to play the blame game. Damn near every speech I see him make he's blaming someone else. Last speech I heard he was blaming Bush.
Good thing you don't vote here.
