How celebrity sites sell movie scenes cuts?

Don't Hollywood studios have exclusive rights for those?

the issue has a lot to do with charging money and commercialization of the protected content. there is a ton of risk. fair use is a bullshit argument that purveyors of excerpted celeb scenes use but when that gets tested they will surely get a fat bill at the end of the day. legal celeb content with 2257 etc. is a rare thing. also a beautiful thing ;-)

If you do a search there is a thread that addressed this topic very well. The majority of celeb sites operate as "review sites" which allows them fair use. In the case of Mr. Skin, if I remember correctly, they creates a significant amount of branding for the studios and their projects that it translates into DVD sales for the studio. Enough in fact that they send review copies to Mr. skin.

I hope I remembered the details of the thread correctly but that's the gist of it.
