    Question to the Hosting Gurus here ...

    How long does it take for a hosting company to acquire and install a cPanel / WHM for the client? 24 hours - 48 hours - 72 hours ?

      Depends on the host. I'm guessing you went cheap, so you get what you pay for.

          Nalem, the installation of cPanel itself does not take that long. If there are other things going on, such as backing up and then re-imaging an existing machine due to the installation of it that would tend to take a little longer.

          Was this a new machine/fresh order or something you were adding to an existing machine?

                  Dedicated or virtual...

                  Virtual is instantly .. the account is created/added thru WHM/CPanel

                  Dedicated : the license goes with the IP .. if a serious host, it should also be very fast . You just need to connect in ssh to yum / install the script ...
                  I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

                  But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

                          You mean for a dedicated server? Well some companies has these servers ready for an almost instant set up.

                          For shared hosting it should be instant if your billing went through o.k.

                          CPanel itself is instant, the delay would only be with the host.

                              This... if server is already up it takes the time to back it up, wipe it clean, install C-Panel and then redo the entire server.

                                      Doesn't take long at all. Any delay would only be due to provisioning hardware if the server wasn't already built to spec.

                                                      Common sense and my webmaster told me it should be a few hours tops.
                                                      It has been 48 hours, and still no install, and this includes communication with their people.. At this point, it really doesnt matter, as data is already being moved over to another DS at a completely different company.

                                                      Sad really, as they all knew their sh*t, but dont give a sh*t anymore.
