If you are in the US or Canada and want some great coffee delivered to your door I have a solution. This is not Folgers and costs more, but if you are willing to pay for the best, try it. European deliveries are coming soon.

I prefer to get from one of the great local cafes that roasts fresh every day for espresso in my machine. Interesting idea though.

Always wait one day after roasting for the best flavor. There are gases created in roasting that need to vent off the coffee.

Real Ticos and many here in Panama use a sock, literally just like the one pictured above.

Looks like a male sex toy. I can't have that on my counter.

Do you get to check out the green beans yourself and such there in Panama?

I grow coffee in Panama. I see the beans from flower to maturation. The coffee is shipped direct from Panama.

You don't have to tell me, I live amongst the Tico, and I can tell you that the only people using those things are hotels and other places trying to be cool. Never been to someones home where they actually owned one of those, they use electric coffee pots like anyone else.

Not all houses in rural Costa Rica or Panama have electricity. Stores sell the sock filters and people use them. Maybe not in the big cities, but I live in the country side not a big city. I personally prefer and use a french press. The coffee I grow tastes much better in a press than drip, sock or electric.

I've been all over the world and have partaken in a lot of different coffee experiences. To date, my favorite coffee is www.bluemountaincoffee.com also not cheap, but well worth the price and shipping cost from Jamaica. I HIGHLY recommend this coffee. Make it in an old school percolator for the best BMC.

I'll have to try this stuff.
