![]() ICM Registry, which runs the .XXX TLD, revealed earlier today that it has applied for three more adult themed TLDs ? .sex, .porn, and .adult. ICM CEO, Stuart Lawley, further announced that existing .XXX domain holders will get a chance to automatically reserve matching domains in these three new TLDs for no extra clause via a ?grandfathering? clause.
According to XBIZ, the retail fee for a domain on one of these new TLDs will be between $10-$15. Meaning, if you already own a .XXX domain, you may be able to get a free .sex, .porn, and .adult domain for no extra cost (though I would be very wary of the domain renewal price under any ?grandfathering? clause). As we reported last week, the .XXX domain has been rather successful, reaching 215,835 registrations in a little over three months since launch. But 82,976 of these domains were non-adult defensive registrations. With .adult, .sex, and .porn in the kitty, it is entirely possible that the number of defensive registrations will go up even further for these new TLDs (which would be very convenient for ICM). The original press release also notes that applications for these new TLDs will be submitted under separate, wholly owned subsidiaries of ICM ? ICM Registry SX LLC (for .sex), ICM Registry PN LLC (for .porn), and ICM Registry AD LLC (for .adult). April 12, 2012 - Source: --> http://www.dnfblog.com/more-bang-for...to-xxx-owners/

![]() Another article from XBIZ: http://newswire.xbiz.com/view.php?id=147011
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. ? ICM Registry announced today that it has applied for three more adult-related TLDs (top-level domain) ? .sex, .porn and .adult. The registry operates the current .XXX adult TLD. ICM said that under new rules finalized in 2011, ICANN, the governing body for Internet names and numbers, began accepting applications for new domain extensions on Jan. 12 and the process concludes on April 20. ?ICM Registry has worked for more than a decade to create .XXX which has become a globally accepted and responsible place for adult online entertainment to thrive in an easily recognizable self-regulated environment,? ICM CEO Stuart Lawley said. He added, ?We are dedicated to protecting interested stakeholders by providing the latest technology and the best domains which is why we created the .XXX TLD. We chose to submit applications for additional TLDs to spare .XXX participants from needless expense and to ensure the TLDs will be run in the same trustworthy and appropriate ways that .XXX is today.? If awarded these new TLDs, ICM said it will offer a ?grandfathering? clause that will automatically reserve matching names at no cost for those who already have .XXX domains. Current .XXX registrants can chose to do nothing and the matching names will never be released under the new TLD suffixes. If however, registrants choose to register the new names for use, there will be a nominal fee. ICM told XBIZ the fee would be between $10-15 retail. ?ICM Registry has invested just under $2 million in these applications to support our existing customers,? Lawley said. ?By offering the grandfathering clause at no charge, we are demonstrating our commitment to our adult entertainment community and will not collect fees for this from anyone who already has purchased a .XXX domain by the appropriate cut-off date.? Each of the new TLD applications were submitted under separate, wholly owned subsidiaries of ICM Registry LLC: ICM Registry SX LLC, ICM Registry PN LLC, and ICM Registry AD LLC. ~~~ And a great song, just for the helluvit...
