Do you/your surfers like FHG thumbs to load in a new page? Is it a pain in the ass for the surfer to have to click 'back' to the gallery after they open a thumb preview? Is it a pain in the ass to have a bunch of open windows for each thumb preview?

The standard is to open them in the same window. As people get more savvy they become aware of the middle mouse button or the necessary sequence to load a link in a new tab on their own.

^ As stated, the web standard is to open all links in the current window. You let the USER decide what they want to do for themselves. If they want it in a new tab or window, they can open it in a new tab or window.

I prefer them to open in the same window. I think only W4B fhgs open in a new tab. Kind of annoying.
