Locations, misc expenses come into play as well which ad up real fast. If we stop paying the models $2,000 per shoot then maybe it will not be so damn hard to be able to produce content at a reasonable price for smaller programs.
I would not see the problem as models. As with the Paul Markham shoot, the Model took only a few hundred dollars and PM took $2500. What value did he add to the shoot compared to the model?

Models are the most important element and yet have the least power and wealth.

If a photographer wants to get paid good money he should show the ability to add value in making good unique different exciting pictures.

So I told this guy about $1,000 a scene and upwards. Based on;

Cute Asian teens are hard to find for nude work. If you find them, you have a little goldmine, so selling them for top dollar.

Met Art has some various shooters, some not so sharp and some top dogs. I assumed he was taking top dog Met Art. These guys don't need to work cheap, they have clients who have money.

3 scenes $3,000

His original offer was $250 a scene. not even ATK at their worse prices.

The point is and those who shoot content will understand. These idiots are often already in the business some way. They just have no concept of what it costs to shoot decent content.

Yes I know anyone can point a camera. Like anyone can drive traffic. To earn a really good living takes skills.

Yes I know I wasted my time, like those who posted it before, wasting their time. And the people who will post again wasting their time.

Anyone can take pictures. Always was dead easy.

Anyone can drive traffic.

Anyone can submit a gallery.

Nothing in this business is really hard, except the cocks I hope.

It's doing any of the above and earning a good living that's the hard part.

You've done OK Paul. You own your own house in a village outside Brno in Czechland, you have your own car. That must be about, what, 25k USD together?

Not bad for 35 years work.

Well done!

Because it would be a handbook for any perv to get girls. Thought about that as the inquiries started to come in from the blog.

I'm doing a couple of things at the moment and doing some blogging, check out my porn story in 30 minutes.

Thanks for the comment. The bulk of the book is in Word on my computer. Spoke to a customer of ours who buys images for his E Books and he has put me onto a better way of making money with writing than giving it away in a blog.

It's not my job to care about small people getting a foot onto the ladder. In fact keeping them off the ladder is the name of the game.

Some big programs should of thought the same when buying content. Paying peanuts they allowed others who could also pay peanuts to open a site and compete with them.

It's a business, not a social club.
It could not have been stopped. This is exactly how a free market works. You are postulating with the benefit of hindsight and it does absolutely no good. Because no one could have controlled the access of amateurs to digital tools, cheap Internet and the changing morales of young hot women. Remember Paul, back in the day, porn actresses were not so pretty. Now it seems as though every woman on the planet is nude on the Internet somewhere.
Before the Internet, there were magazines and film. Then things were somewhat more controllable, but that's all gone now. Exclusive content is only exclusive to the person that has seen it all, and he/she doesn't exist.

Don't hit PM up for Asian Glamour content cause even content he doesn't have is too expensive.

Is this the same guy that was going to publish your ebook?

Not many people can even produce "Met Art style" content.

So I would say both parties will be let down..

Yes anyone can point a camera at a naked girl. And that market is flooded, saturated and largely worth very little to most of the individuals. Shooters, affiliates or site owners. Yes some make a living. And some make a very good living.

the flaw in your argument is obvious. Until 2008 there was still a number of magazines to sell to paying $600 to $3,000 a set non exclusive. so every guy coming out of your sector of "amateurs" who were suddenly able to find hot new models and shooting them for ATK for $300 a set and video exclusive. Was either a fool or lacking something.

Even the great Dean Capture couldn't dream of earning $3,000 from a single solo girl set that he still would own and still earn a living from. So is he a fool or not able to rise to where I was very successful?

Then there are sites like Met Art, sites at the top of the tree that couldn't source the product from anyone with a digital camera and access to a few hot girls. Yet when they did, they had a product that wasn't cloned on 100s or even 1,000s of sites.

OK with enough practice anyone can pull out a few decent images from a set. Stick them on GFY and have everyone thinking they are great shooters. Yet how many can put a scene together like this?

http://www.saboom.com/en/stars/ferre...e-minishow_434

How many can afford to pay Madalton the money to shoot that?

How many can get a hot girl who is there for the money, thinks the shooter is a perv, get her to act like she thinks he's hot and pull out the performance that makes the viewer think she's worth the price of a membership?

That's the flaw in MisterPeabody's debate. Anyone can drive traffic. How many can drive enough.

Otherwise how do I sell content and memberships?

Anyone can tae a picture or video.
Anyone can drive traffic.
Anyone can use Photoshop.

The trick is doing it well enough to retire at 58. Yes I know it was late, but I was seeing naked girls every day, not a keyboard and screen.

I suppose from a content producer's point of view you would be correct. Those days are over now. The big guys have their own inhouse production, there are still a few pros and there aren't the sites like there used to be. Some porn shops like NastyDollars or BangBros have their style of shooting using Nikon AK47's. Others, and a very successful niche to boot, relies on girls self-shooting with cell phones and handhelds.
The cat is out of the bag, the horse has left the barn and nothing is going to change any of that. No one on GFY is going share not one shred of their hard-earned knowledge with anyone else. It has to be stolen when published, then duplicated. Why? Because that is the working model for most of the webmasters out there now. I'm sure there are a lot of hard working webmasters that have found avenues of income beyond the convention website. I know I have and I think it will carry me very well into retirement. Looking back though, isn't going to make any money for me because there is not much to learn from, basically a 15 year old Internet. The market changed right under you and me. You should have done very well and I hope you did. Some of the information you share, Paul, would have benefited me very well 10-12 years ago, so thanks for that. LOL
I suppose, GFY bozos not withstanding, provoking discourse does keep things fresh and interesting and, at least, gets people thinking (good or bad).

I think we have to remember that porn is porn and art is art. Then there is Porn-Art which is a niche. Porn without the art is much, much bigger on the Internet because pretty much everyone is looking to bust a nut and when you are jacking off, you could care less about Photoshop, lingerie and some moke's villa on the Med.

We had such a short window to make money. In 2007 the cost of B/W started to dive and the "Give it away free to sell traffic" guys had won. Prior to 2000 we were a cottage industry, speeds were low, hosting and B/W expensive and the penetration of online was yet to burst.Yes a few did make good money, because they were the few.

Then the "Anyone can do this." age was upon us. Anyone with a computer could drive traffic, anyone with PS could design a banner, TGPs were simple for those with a schoolboys knowledge of HTML and yes everyone with a digital camera could find a girl to get naked and produced what computer geeks who would fuck anything with a heartbeat thought was porn.

The people who were not so convinced were the porn buyers. Yes 10,000s were looking at galleries, but views to sales were a disgrace, clicks to sales were nothing to be shouted about. Only the foolish would boast converting 1% of the people who went through a tour after being qualified as interested to come and see it after viewing a gallery.

It didn't matter. 100,000s were coming online and it was all so easy.

The problem with the "anyone can do it" approach is they all compete with each other. Met Art level never did, because not everyone could shoot the content. Like this content not everyone can think it out, put it down on paper, direct it, shoot it, market it and above all afford it. Look at this through the eyes of a DVD produce rand the response will be "So what's so great about it?" It's good of the same level of so money porn producers in the DVD world.

Misterpeabody, if you can do something a 1,000 others can't and appeals to the customer, you don't NEED to be great at driving traffic. If you produce something that 1,000 others can produce, then getting 10,000s to view a sample, some to think of looking at the tour and a tiny number bother to get their card out. Traffic is king.

And if you can't afford to invest in a product that sells itself, then traffic is the name of the game. How much of the content on your sites do you own?

Why am I always reminding people of the past? Anyone who had had to suffer the insults from dwarfs that I had to has the earned the right to tell them they fucked up and were not so clever. Yes they understood how to give away free porn. That was all they understood. They made giving away free porn an art in itself.

What is going on in Markham's house? Does your wife refuse to speak to you? To do anything with you? Is Brno that boring a place?

WTF are you doing writing this drivel day after day as if your life depended on it, as if it mattered. Don't you have any Czech friends you can chat with doen the local beer house. You do speak Czech don't you? After so many years...Czech wife, all those girls...you have to be a complete sad retard not to speak the lingo.

You made money on mags, it was great, you were the man. We get it.

But I think its a step in the right when we stop talentless pornographers from earning more than doctors.

It's the end of life crisis for an unremarkable person and an unremarkable career.

You see this in gyms a lot. The 65 year old guy lifting 5 times the weight he should be by throwing his body around like he's having a seizure and doing it all wrong - just to prove he's still got it... NEVER understanding that everyone is really just looking at the guy thinking "holy shit, what a moron,... I can't believe this idiot hasn't broke his back yet". In his mind and evident by the grin of satisfaction these guys usually have, he thinks everyone is in awe of him, though no one ever is.

In Pauls case, 34 years in the biz ended in him failing miserably and being forgotten. His content was always nothing special and only sold as filler content to small players. Notice no one says how great his content is except him. Yet many compliment the content of those he says are nothing special.

The only reason anyone who joined this biz in the last few years knows he even existed is this continued message board stupidity.

Now, at the end of his life, he's trying to reconcile the fact that he worked so hard, for so long and is forced to retire on government pensions. After posing for years as someone who is successful, in spite of admitting his best year was 75,000.00 or so his mega-ego cannot handle the fact that he was forced into retirement with a new generation of people taking his place and making money where he is not.

You have to feel kinda bad for him.

His behavior often has a sort of manic feel to it.

He NEEDS to be heard. He NEEDS to feel like he "knows". He NEEDS to be seen as someone who is to be respected for his achievements, in spite of not really having any. He NEEDS to be respected. He NEEDS to feel like his life in this biz mattered and he will be remembered as being a very smart guy that did well and left a mark... and at the same time, he gets nothing but much deserved ridicule for his borderline insane rants, absurd claims and idiotic "logic" defended only by his famous "prove me wrong" statement as if an adult has to prove a child wrong when a child is telling you Unicorns are real to make sense.

The situation is simple.

When you have 3 different troughs to feed from with varying amounts of feed. The amount each pig gets depends on the number of pigs feeding from the trough.

Trough A has 100 pounds with 2 100 pigs feeding = 1/2 pound each.
Trough B has 50 pounds with 50 pigs feeding from it = 1pound each
Trough C has 25 pounds with 5 pigs getting very very fat.

And that's the same in business.

****************************

When you have clowns like squealer running around looking for anyone who can point a camera to shoot for $300 a scene. There are loads of people who will want it.

When you have magazines and content stores returning around $3,000 a set. You don't need a loser like squealer. I can be as rude as I like to him, because he will never put money into my pocket. The year he claims I was going broke, was 8 years ago. And the year Eva and I took a holiday in Thailand, then England, then America. I can prove that with our passports.

We shot around 275 sets that year, that would turn a profit in 2005. In 2003 we had shot more, that were bringing in money while I was sitting talking to his dumb ass. He got annoyed by my mobile constantly beeping with orders coming in from the stores.

Too stupid to ask himself what a content shooter was doing with 4 programmers working for him. didn't even cross his tiny mind what all the staff were doing there.

Yes 8 years after he lies I was broke. I'm still taking in money. Must suck for him to realise he is just a little loser.

************************************

OK I'll stop worrying about lying dwarfs. The problem s simple. Content is king. Because it will decide how many people you compete with ultimately. Giving away free porn is too easy and if Manwin get taken out. All their traffic will simply move to the next Tube. If Suze Randal gets taken out, there very few to replace her. I use Suze as an example. It can be a number of other shooters top in their field. So don't aim snipes at Suze, I use her as an example to counter Ruff's stance of anyone can do shoot content.

I never understood why one would post that you have someone on ignore. Isnt the whole idea of the ignore function to actually ignore people?

Carry on ;)

Particularly in his case, when we all know he reads all the posts and will reply to one in a day or less.

Especially if I push the right buttons for him...

Paul, when I said anyone can shoot content, it doesn't necessarily mean there aren't good shooters out there. It just means there's a lot of people generating content good and bad. There is also a huge market for unprofessionally produced porn for exgf sites, amateur sites and tubes. This product does not lend itself to magazines and film does it? You spoke about Met-Life, don't they have a number of competitors now? The surfer is not as discriminating as you and others. Of course they like a good picture, but they also will like a bad one. The Internet is what it is now. The only market that gives away it's product to make money. As long as the amateur is able to come into this market with an insignificant investment it will always be so. What you are doing is pissing into the wind, you need to turn around and piss the other way. Using hindsight to make your points is an awfully easy way to pontificate. We can all do that when we retire. What would be interesting to discuss is business models that do work in today's adult environment.

Sadly there are so many people like the subject of the original post, Squealer, Damian, Cherry, etc. People with little idea what business, porn, marketing or selling is about is about.

As the shooters who replied, it's not unusual to get some idiot who wants us to shoot content for peanuts. This guy wants someone to shoot a level few can get to of girls that are hard to find. And if a shooter could do it, he's not working for $250 a scene.

Like Squealer who turns up and thinks I'm a rude idiot and a crap shooter, then spends the rest of the day with me. Knowing I'm not what he was looking for and he must of realised he was not what I was looking for. Never did chase that crap market, left it to others to shoot custom. Thankfully.

Then the guys who came over and tried to convince me to stop shooting and turn the studio into a web cam operation for them. It's not something a parson can do both of and make a good job of either. The deal was always the same. I spend a lot of money, getting the equipment in, then the girls, then the managers for the 24/7 operation and I sell the "content" to them on a basis of I get a % of the enormous revenue they would generate.

And on paper it was a fantastic deal. I was getting a big slice of a mega cake and would be making a ton of money. Or something like that BS.

Won't even go into all the clowns who offered me great deals to sell my content to members on a rev share basis.

And there's me thinking all the time "So why do you need me. Open your own studio, find your own girls and run it yourself. Or at least put a big chunk of cash on the table so I don't risk my money.

The industry is full of guys with great schemes to make money. But rarely have money to put down on the table. Even the guru whale traffic pushers, never open a site and to listen to them you would think they have done most of the work dumping traffic on a tour. They don't even know how well a site will sell until they get the stats back.

Me I'm an idiot who knows nothing ad will never have to work another day in his life. I do it for the fun and the pleasure of annoying you.

I'm off out for the rest of the day. It's Easter Monday.

Yes Paul... "all the staff" - in a time and place when monthly wages were 100.00 - 200.00 - 300.00 a month, you had a few people working for you right before you went bankrupt.

Good for you.

You were clearly very successful.

I guess you're right. In spite of never posting any proof whatsoever of actually making money, admitting your best year was $75,000.00 and being broke and begging for money on this very forum to survive less than 2 years later, you clearly were rolling in money.

My bad.

Paul, when you post here, you distract these busy webmasters and are directly responsible for their decline in production, which in turn reduces income for themselves, content producers and affiliates. This has got to stop. If you continue, they will spend all their time commenting on your posts and eventually porn will stop. Is that what you want?
