Btw, speaking of old ladies, the old ladies used to come up to me at weddings poking me in the ribs and cackling "You're next!" They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals. |
sounds like a regular trip to the grocery store for me

people talk like they will form a militia and fight the government, but as we see constantly no, if shit really hit the fan youd be buying the first flight out of new york or wherever the war is starting and would not be in a revolution. i am not trying to insult anyone, its just hilarious thinking about all this wehn instantly in a real life situation you wont even be allowed to be outside after 6 pm let alone patrol your streets with weapons LOl (they declare 6pm curfew during hurricane, you arrested if you out after 6 pm) I can see everyone packing their gucci and versacci suits to get out of town quickly, that whole be rambo shit dies down quick when reality hits (soldiers with machine guns pointed at you) - when they approach you, they ask if you have weapons, you answer yes they already have weapons on you. You dont comply, what you think happens? lol need i spell it out? as i said, in normal civilian times yeah you walk around supermarket feeling tough, but really, if shit broke out, none of you would be in any revolution, youd be evacuated and be sitting in a hotel in another state. hehehe |
When you've been involved in a home invasion where dudes came into your house with guns, you start to understand why people want to own weapons. This issue is the reason I can't get along with liberals any better than I can conservatives.
From my cold, dead hands, motherfucker. |

with all the morality about gun ownership (at least you are allowed to, it's illegal in some countries to own books about how to make guns, ahem) then all I can say is thank god at least none of us are pornographers.

You have to watch out for those old lady's!

Not true. Actually almost 2.5 MILLION crimes are averted by the presence of a lawful firearm in the hands of a citizen per year. .:2 cents: |

FWIW, I am 100% on ArronMs side...
If he has the legal right to carry a weapon, and chooses to legally do so... Why not? I cant carry a weapon here in the UK, but if I had the choice to legally do so, I would... PS: I would also approach the store for some recompense as well... |
considering your history of going ballistic and being kicked out of subway shops for your behavior it is a good thing you cannot carry there. :1orglaugh

Fair point, but even to this very day, I still feel that I was badly treated for simply daring to ask a member of staff, how much my sandwich was going to cost! I mean... How very dare I ? :1orglaugh |

My logic is just that if just 'ANYONE' could be carrying a gun, and quite easily be able to get one, (ie there were gunshops etc) then YES... I would follow suit... In otherwords, if it were legal to carry a gun, then by default, more people WOULD have guns, and I would not wish to be at a disadvantage, should push come to shove... |

Crazy that everyone is concerned and doesn't give the guy who brings a pistol to go grocery shopping the benefit of the doubt right away. That just makes no sense at all.

I roll down my window and set both hands on the window sill or steering wheel in plain sight. The officer comes up and begins to speak. No matter what he has said, I say, "Officer, I have something to tell you" the moment I have a chance to speak. Almost always, he replies, "You're not going to tell me you have a firearm, are you?" I say, "Actually, that's exactly what I am going to tell you. But I also have a CCW permit." He'll then usually ask to see the CCW permit, ask where the guns are in the car. Ask if I'll allow him to get them (if they are in his reach). He'll then compare the numbers and almost always tell me to have a nice day and be on my way, without even checking my driver's license. My THEORY is this... either: 1. He sees a guy with a CCW as someone who must be okay, since I've had to go through a federal background check to get my permit or 2. He doesn't like the idea of having to go back and forth between his cruiser and a vehicle that has a legally armed citizen waiting (impatiently) inside. I dunno which one is the case, but I do know my CCW almost always gets me out of tickets. |
wait wait wait wait wait
something doesn't sound right here a cop apologized??????????? |

It's funny and yet quite sad to see so many people who are so adamantly against guns...
I grew up as a white kid in the darkest parts of Baltimore City which was, during that time, the murder capital of the US. I've never once been shot, or shot at. I have had guns drawn on me, but every time was by a criminal. I've been hit by a drunk driver once; a moron speeding through a school crossing once; an idiot who swerved up on to the sidewalk once; I had my first car totaled because some moron panicked and slammed on their brakes in ice; I have been rear ended by jack asses talking on their cellphones while stopped at traffic lights; my grandmother had her car t-boned while pulling out of her driveway by some retard ho was driving the wrong way down a one way street; I've seen too many pile ups to count which are usually caused by some asshat who shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car... I could go on all day if the point still eludes you. Now, let's look at people with a legal right to carry a weapon (concealed or otherwise). how many of those people commit crimes? If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that the vast majority of crimes committed by persons permitted to carry weapons are committed by the police. And as has been stated before, more crimes are averted by people who are carrying legally than crimes committed. Let's look at some statistics shall we: Automobile related deaths: http://www-fars.nhtsa.dot.gov/Main/index.aspx There were a total of 33,808 in 2009 Cigarette smoking related deaths: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_stat...ted_mortality/ An estimated 443,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke) Homicide and legal intervention deaths by firearm (2009): 11,826 http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_us.html Select "Homicide and Legal intervention" from section 1 and "Firearm" from section 2. Legal Intervention related deaths (2009): 333 http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_us.html Select "Legal intervention" from section 1 and "Firearm" from section 2. Firearm related suicides (2009): 18,735 http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_us.html Select "Suicide" from section 1 and "Firearm" from section 2. Unintentional (accidental) firearm related deaths (2009): 554 http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_us.html Select "Unintentional" from section 1 and "Firearm" from section 2. So the facts are there for everyone to see... and the facts are, criminals and people who have given up on life are the leading cause of firearm related deaths in the US (2009). So while I can understand being against firearms, chastising and ridiculing legal gun owners is pretty ridiculous. At the end of the day, you have a 98% higher chance of being killed by a car than you do of being killed by someone who is legally carrying a firearm. |
Quote:
Carrying a gun isn't about making the world a safer place. Killing someone is an absolute last resort. You don't take a gun out to solve an argument. You don't pull out a gun to stop a robbery. The only time you pull out that gun on someone is when you know you're going to fucking die if you don't. |
