I'm not saying there's no acting ability at all, and it ranges from abysmal to decent. But there aren't any Julianne Moores or Naomi Watts in porn movies. There's a HUGE gap in acting in acting talent between those actresses and porn chicks. Anyone who doesn't know that hasn't ever paid attention to a movie.

What if Martin Scorcese did one of his regular Hollywood blockbusters, only there was hardcore fucking scenes in it. Like, Robert DeNiro winds up having a threesome right in the middle of the movie.

The overall level of acting ability possessed by porn stars has improved substantially over the past 10-15 years. Largely because of the emergence of reality tv, studios aren't making nearly as many those Skinemax type 'b-movies' they did back in the 80s and 90s, like the type of shit you would USA?s ?Up All Night?, because reality shows can be produced for a fraction of the cost. And the networks can air new episodes during primetime and then air the reruns during late night time slots. Time slots that were previously reserved for B-movies. They also get free advertising every time an idiot cast member does something stupid enough to catch the attention of TMZ or Perez Hilton. Shannon Tweed has essentially been replaced by JWoww.

But here's the thing. Those B-movie actresses were usually attractive and talented, not quite Hollywood level talented, but still talented and because those movies are no longer being made, a lot of the talented but not quite world class caliber talented actresses who would have done a b-movie in the 90s are doing porn now. Cheap reality tv 'star' labor essentially squeezed out those 'middle class' acting jobs. They're like a bunch of freaking Mexicans.

I own one of ten largest productions companies, I shoot well over 300 models in 500 scenes a year. In addition, I'm on the second season of a reality TV show about me called, "The Right Hand" it airs on HBO in Canada so I know enough about the "acting" abilities of porn stars to comment on this.

If a porn star could act she would not be doing porn, she would be doing commercials, soap opera, reality TV, scripted TV shows or anything else before porn.

There is very little money in the adult industry for models these and their 'career' is normally less than six months.

And I don't fool myself, I can't 'act' either - lol
