More kids in the US and Canada play soccer than any other organized sport. Why? Because their parents are products of liberal indoctrination their entire lives - taught that their children should be raised to believe that they are each special unique snowflakes, that winning doesn't really matter. Put your kids on a soccer field with 20 others, at most a couple goals are scored, so your kid's a complete klutz, if he feels bad that he never scores a goal you buy him a new video game and console him/her ''you haven't scored a goal this entire season Josh but neither have 18 other boys on the field with you!" Kids blend in on a soccer field.

Put that kid on a baseball diamond and he goes to bat alone in front of a hundred people watching him. He strikes out 4 times without even making contact. A fly ball is hit directly to your kid picking his nose in the outfield, your kid doesn't even come close to catching it. It's hard for Mom to tell her kid he's a wonderful unique snowflake when he's got objective people in the stands calling him a failure.

Kids in the US and Canada play soccer but those that watch and follow sports are watching the NBA, NFL and NHL. They play soccer because Mom doesn't want them to get hurt, physically or emotionally.

Also the super bowl is far from the biggest game in the world. The world cup final draws many more viewer World wide. Granted the World Cup final is only every 4 years.

Wait a minute. So in my statement you claim the Super Bowl because it gets more viewers than any single game of baseball, but in the second statement you claim the Super Bowl isn't really the biggest because the World Cup has it squashed over many, many, many games?

LOL.

In 2012, the Super Bowl had 111 million global viewers (which includes massive parties, people don't have baseball parties.) In 2011, 116 million people watched the World Series.

I said boring to watch...

not to play. I used to roller hockey and LOVED soccer. PLayed basketball and baseball. Never touched Football. I watch the super bowl, thats it.

I hate most sports equally... to watch. Participating in them can be fun as shit.

Check your assumptions at the door :thumbsup

You do make a point about the points being similar... but lets just say this... How many hockey games have you seen go pointless? A LOT!

The biggest sport in America over the last 100+ years has been baseball.

Nfl took that over from mlb at least a decade ago.

You don't know much about hockey clearly. If a game ends in a tie it goes to a shoot out to decide a winner. I cannot remember the last time i heard about a scoreless tie in regulation.

lol at self centered ignorant US and A people who makes joke saying football is not a sport yet they call something like baseball a sport.

Coup D'etat 03-28-2012 04:45 PM

Much like everything in the US, American "Football" is designed around money, ei. commercial breaks. The sport itself caters to the interests of the advertisers, not to the interest of the sport itself and its fans.

Real football consists of 2 45 mins. periods of uninterrupted play. This is why it has not picked up in the US, there is no other real reason. Broadcasters and advertisers have much more to gain from showing American Football.

PS. :1orglaugh @ the guy thinking the Superbowl is the biggest single sporting event in the world.

Noooo, it's because watching 30 idiots kick a ball back and fourth for 2 45 mins. periods of uninterrupted play is about as boring as watching turtles fuck.

Who the fucks wants to see a 2-1 score after 2 hours or skating and brawling.

Sure is better than watching 22 fags faking injuries every 10 minutes and having 0-0 draw at the end.
At least you see hits, blood and other cool stuff. You should try playing hockey. Best sport ever.
