It seems to fit my temperature/climate likings, but i am not sure about people, are they all rednex out there? Any decent town you may call a place to live?

climate is terrible here, cold winters, hot summers, ton of rain and wind...
april to august is reasonable, the rest of the year is crap though.. no idea where you got your info from...

There are plenty of great places to live in the Midwest. Ann Arbor, MI, Madison WI, Minneapolis, MN to name a few.
