    Would you go to a movie theater that allowed texting?



    Study finds that, as it has been, it shall always be: young people don't know shit.

    But the most disturbing finding is the one mentioned above. Over 50% of people ages 18-34 like to use their phones in a theater and just under 50% would seek out a theater that allowed them to do that.

    What the survey also found, though, was that overall, not just that smaller segment, 75% of total people think using a phone in a theater is distracting and ruins the expeirence. So it?s just the younger kids who disagree.
    Now there is one theater thinking about doing this. If this gets popular, would you still go to the cineplexes?

                  The Hollywood Reporter hired a firm called Penn Schoen Berland to survey 750 social network users ages 13 to 49.
                  It was a survey of people who use social network sites regularly. So we learned that young people who like to use Facebook a lot would use it in a theatre. That's different from a survey pf ranfom people.

                          I always get a kick out of the losers who can't stay off their phone during movies, concerts, and shit like sporting events.

                          If you really have to communicate with some other chode during those times, chances are you're a fucking loser.

                          I remember during the world series last year I seen a kid catch a foul ball and before the camera was even off of him he was banging out some shit on his smart phone, I assume updating facebook or twitter about his great success.

                                                                          I have my phone set to automatically check for new emails every minute. If I have a spare few moments, I'll put in the passcode, open mail, and manually click the 'get new mail' button. I put it down to stats addiction, since each new sale generates an email. It doesn't matter if 16 year old Lucy Liu is spreading her asshole in front of me... I'm checking those stats.

                                                                                                                  For some movies at the theater near me you can get VIP tickets, where you have drinks served to you and it is 19+. I've never been yet though, it is only for selected movies and it costs more.

                                                                                                                  This thread reminds me of being on the one ride at Disney, the Haunted House, there were a bunch of kids in there with bright light-up flashing swords, someone finally asked them to turn them off but they were back on a minute later and the parents did nothing. The bright lights totally ruined the experience, I'm sure a bunch of lit screens at a movie would be as bad.

They will fart repeatedly during the quiet scenes, clap and giggle loudly at random moments, talk real loud and crack jokes the entire time, etc.

I like the big screen, big sound, and big popcorn, and am happy to pay $15.00 for the experience. I want to fall head-first into the movie and lap it all up. This minute some loser gets on their phone to talk or text is the minute I tell them to TURN THAT SHIT OFF nice and loud in front of everyone. If the punk doesn't get the hint, I'd get the usher to kick his loser ass out to cheers from the audience. No one wants to pay $15 a ticket and put up with that shit.
