File share sites are just ONE of many things draining porn sales.

On the other hand, if they get their card banged, hit with a ton of shady cross sells or whatever, they're most likely never buying porn or anything porn-related again.

A lot of the industry did this to themselves over the years.

Totally true - one humiliating experience and they'll never buy again.

Brilliant theory.

That's probably why why people steal Adobe Photoshop. Shitty product.

People steal far more mainstream product than they do porn. Porn just has no real protection, and the unique situation of having "respectable" merchants compensating thieves for ripping off their friends and suppliers. Its like a vendor paying a thief to steal his farmer supplier's crops and selling them for half price - seems smart now but in five years they'll both have starved to death.

It isn't bad product either - are you telling me that grainy shitty movies that end with 30 seconds of Ron Jeremy's sweaty face before the cum shot were better? That seeing the same piss poor tit jobs and hearing that fucking ridiculous music that everyone makes fun of was better? Those movies sucked ass and they were made to take money, not for quality. The only ones anyone watches today is because they were "seminal" (literally) or "groundbreaking". In truth they sucked and the reason anyone used them is because the alternative was Crazy Larry Flynt's moonrock bitches.

People now try to get everything for free. Online porn was at one time, maybe, a 5 bil business; I'd say 200mil now. People below a certain age think they are being outsmarted if they have to pay.

I don't think sales will ever go up significantly again. I think the pie is 200m.

Value of pirated software nearly $59 billion: study

Torrent/Filelockers exist since 2002,and money was still good till tube sites arrived.Since then(2007/2008) sales went to complete shitter.I mean how can you blame pirate sites for sales if maybe 90% of entire traffic goes to top 10 tube sites?

PimpRoll gives away short tube clips of its exclusive scenes, just for the record and we opened up www.paidperview.com for others to adapt and make $$ from TUBES.

File share sites are a huge part of it. Toss the tubes and the password sharing sites into the mix and you have 80% of the problem right there.

I don't know if I would consider 30 minute videos "short tube clips". I just went to porn.com and clicked on one video, for free, that I recognized from clips I used to promote pimproll many years ago. At least some of those videos you are giving away for free on porn.com are the same ones your affiliates are trying to sell. It's your right to do this but there's no sense beating around the bush or sugarcoating it.

I think you have the right idea but I definitely believe the paysite business alone still does way more than $200 million. People argue that there are more customers and thus a bigger market but I know for a fact (as should anyone who has been in the business for a while) that $/impression is way down from what it was a decade ago as it relates to paysite sales. It's true that piracy and industry practices have radically devalued the value of the paysite product. If anyone suggests otherwise I would suggest they remove their head from their ass and take a look around. :upsidedow

pimpmaster9000 03-27-2012 11:55 AM

Its a huge mistake to think that people are conditioned to get porn for free and that this can never change. Total bullshit. A membership is not 30000000000$ its 20-30$ this is not a fortune to spend. If you can't get them to spend 30$ then there is something wrong with your offer.

As for piracy its days as a profitable business model are over. It's only a matter of time before some form of law starts going after their payment processors. Kim.com is the last of his kind. As soon as SOPA/PIPA/ACTA are passed the pirate empires will be shut down in a few hours time.

"But new sites will pop up" is not a realistic model. Its like saying "parking domains will be profitable again" or "the VHS tape will make a comeback" ....when something becomes an uphill struggle the lazy shits (pirates/ EMO hippies) begin to fail massively...people will not "magically know the next new top pirate sites"

People will want porn, and if ACTA or SOPA or anything the like passes, who ever has legal distribution channels will be in the money again.

If PimpRoll views it's own library of exclusive content as being utterly worthless and treats it accordingly, who are we to disagree?

As long as they don't steal other peoples material, it's their choice to make :thumbsup

My thoughts on this from what I hear from talking to people out there ...

1. Social Networking: People are reconnecting with old connections from their lives and basically being able to screw like mad if they even try slightly. Real deal .. tons of people I know are cruising facebook, etc ... and its free.

2. Less Disposable income: Bad Economy .. people consume less. Porn memberships are no longer a must have.

3. Shady dealings: Cross sells, upsells, etc ... Banging that card too hard on joe consumer.

4. Oversaturation: Porn is everywhere ... You are not going to buy what you can get for free all over the net. You may not want to give it out ..but 60000 others will.

The game has changed entirely with social media. Who cares about the fantasy girl getting her brains fucked out you'll never score with .. when the babe from Highschool you really had the hots for is now a divorced MILF that's looking for a dinner date? .... and its no cost to join up? .... and you can pretty much get a ball licking too? ...

Time to figure out the new wave all ... and its how to make FB traffic into cash. :thumbsup
