Network Solutions is the oldest and best, with full phone support, but they're way overpriced.
GoDaddy is spammy as heck. You can't just login and get stuff done without 50 upsale attempts.
Name Cheap and Name Secure are the two I prefer, for whatever that's worth...Comment

I recently started to look into moving my domains out of Moniker.
I checked namecheap but they fact they still haven't rolled out their own ICANN gateway does raise questions for me, I know they have been using Enom but why they don't switch is beyond me.Comment
-
And there are always coupons and they're easy as fuck to find.
Have been with GD 9 years without issue. Fabulous is up there too but not easy to get a wholesale account there.
I'm sure NameCheap is great but with having thousands of names, I'd prefer to pay $1-$2 less per domain per year tyvm.Want to crush it in mainstream with Facebook ads? Hit me up.Comment

I use internetbs, namecheap and godaddy. Not sure if its about trust, more about good prices, coupons etcComment

I like NameCheap because of ease of use - I remember setting up my own name servers for the first time.
It took 5 mins on NameCheap and I wasn't told I needed to buy a load of crap.Comment

I have an enom reseller account, they've been great to me.Crazy fast VPS for $10 a month. Try with $20 free creditComment

I have been with namecheap for years. Do not mind the 99cent price for privacy that i get with golddeal. Never had any issues with them. I think they are a stand up company.Comment

I used to use Dynadot, but they charge $2 for partial Whois Privacy, what means that they do not hide our names.
I've moved to internetbs.net, but they've stopped accepting PayPal.
So I've moved again to Namecheap, and I'm happy, finally.
However, I've registered a few domains at NameSilo, and they are just amazing too. Cheaper, and the panel is smarter than Namecheap's panel (I think it is a little bit confusing).
Tip: Never register domains on Hosting companies. Keep things apart.
Fact: GoDaddy sucks. They try to sell the world when all we want is just a domain.
Good luck.Last edited by Crazy Enough; 10-11-2012, 07:00 PM.Comment

GoDaddy, NameSilo, and Dynadot is who I use.
Fabulous if you can get a wholesale account is pretty good, but to qualify for the wholesale account I think you have to transfer 1500 domains to them!
NameSilo has competitive pricing ($8.99 .coms) as well as free privacy. Seems like pretty good security features as well at NameSilo.
Only had a few domains with NameCheap over the years, but I did have an issue with transferring away one domain from them a while back. Took about two months of me emailing them back and forth before they fixed the problem. It was actually Enom that I was having to email about the issue, because NameCheap was just a domain reseller.
Stay away from Register.com. If you use them to register a domain they will start calling you daily trying to sell you more shit. Also when you try to transfer your domain away from Register.com, you will most likely get an email saying that your request for the auth code has been declined due to recent suspicious activity on your account.
The type of suspicious activity that could have caused your request to be declined includes:
- Multiple failed attempts to login to customer's account
- Recent changes to the account holder's name, email address, or login ID
- Attempts to access the account over the phone without authorization
- Recent changes to the accounts password
- Domain name lock not removed
- Recent changes to billing or credit card information
All of which is total BS! You end up having to call and wait on hold to talk with a rep so that you can actually get an auth code to transfer your domain.Comment

FYI for anyone who uses namecheap (we used to, and used to recommend them to everyone who asked us)...
When some anonymous nobody files a false complaint against one of your domains, you'd better hope you get the email from them because they only send it once.
One of our domains was suspended on a Sunday morning at 5am due to an easily proven false "complaint". We were completely unaware that there was even a problem until the domain was taken offline.
As it turns out, they only send you 1 single email warning you of a complaint, and if it gets lost in the web, you're fucked. Yet they make sure to send 10+ emails for every single domain that is going to expire soon. Funny that.
And then to top it off, when we provide proof that the claim is false, not only do they refuse to give us the information of the clown who filed the complaint so we can take legal action, they also try to say that they cannot verify that our documents are valid because the domain was offline... well no shit. They were the ones who shut it down on a Sunday morning.
And just so it's known, we've used them since 2009 without issue, without a single complaint, and have always spoken highly of them. But at the end of the day, they cost us upwards of $3k for the downtime from that domain but they refuse to even acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part. They did however have the gull to offer us a discount after we started moving our domains.
There you have it.. make of it what you will.Comment

We worked with Bari at Moniker and now at Enom.
