I posted this 4 year ago i think once in a while it's appropriate to re post it

1)My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years or more. Any
separation from you will be painful.

2)Give me time to understand what you want from me. Do not
break my spirit with your temper, though I will always forgive
you. Your patience will teach me more effectively.

3)Please have me spayed or neutered.

4)Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the
world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don't be
angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment.
After all, you have your job, your friends, your
entertainment, I only have you.

5)Speak to me often. Even if I don't understand your words, I
understand your voice when it's speaking to me. Your voice is the sweetest sound I
ever hear, as you must know by my enthusiasm whenever I hear your footsteps.

6)Take me in when it's cold and wet. I'm a domestic animal and am no longer
accustomed to the bitter elements. I ask for little more than your gentle hands petting
me. Keep my bowl filled with water.

7)Feed me good food so that I may stay well to romp and play. By your side, I stand
ready, willing and able to share my life with you, for that is what I live for. I'll never forget
how well you've treated me.

8)Don't hit me. Remember, I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand,
but I choose not to bite.

9)Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be
bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I've been out in the sun too long,
my ear may hurt, or my heart may be getting weak.

10)Take care of me when I get old. For you will grow old, too. When I am old, or when I no
longer enjoy good health, please do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not
having fun. Just see to it that my trusting life is taken gently. And be with me on that
difficult journey when it's time to say goodbye. Never say, "I just can't bear to watch it."
Everything is easier for me when you are there. I will leave this earth knowing with my
last breath that my fate was always safest in your hands.

When a pet owner has a problem with neutering, it's more about their own nuts than the dog's.

i agree with the first one, but the second one is a myth.. Our dogs aren't spayed yet and are perfectly happy. I've known breeders who have 14 year old stud dogs that are happy too. Its up to the owners to create a happy environment and life for them, not up to their nuts or uteruses..

and that last comment is wishful thinking.

good stuff. its sad how some people treat their animals.

i have 2 dogs, both about 4 months old and its so hard for me to go to work and leave them in their crate for 4 hours.

Did you know that dogs are healthier when they are spayed or neutered? There are some diseases that happen less often in animals that have been spayed or neutered. That's a good reason to give your dog the operation, isn't it? It's a very responsible thing to do.
Spaying will reduce the risk of breast cancer. Almost 50% of unsprayed dogs develop breast tumors. Benefits to your pet after neutering mean that females have less chance of ovarian cancer or uterine infections if it is done before their first "heat". Each cycle they experience increases the chances of illness greatly, as much as ten times each! Spaying early almost eliminates this risk. Uterine disease is no longer a problem after spaying. Pyometra, (an infection that can be fatal) and uterine cancer are no longer a risk. Ovarian cysts that can be sometimes very painful are no longer even a consideration after spaying.
Neutering significantly lowers the risk of prostate gland and testicular cancer in male dogs. Almost 60% of intact males suffer from prostate cancer, why not make the odds a little better? Neutering eliminates the risk of testicular tumors as well. Males who are neutered have less of a desire to roam, fight, mark and be destructive.
Another benefit is that you will not have to clean up the mess which happens during each heat cycle!
Behavioral wise, your pooch or feline will be calmer and more reliable. You also won?t have male strays staying at your house trying to get to your female. And you will not have to deal with your dog trying to get out to get to the opposite sex by fence climbing, dirt digging, or any other way they can use to get out. This is their instinct, you can't stop it. With cats, it's prowling, spraying and fighting! From a behavioral standpoint, neutered animals are more reliable, stable and have about sixty percent (60%) less problems than those left "intact."
It takes only one escape to find a female and become a villain of pet overpopulation. One cat and her kits will produce over 420,000 cats in about seven years!
Spaying and neutering also prolongs a pets life. Almost by twice the life span in cats, and a significant number of years for dogs.
A spayed or neutered pet is more likely to wander less, and runs less risk of being hit by a car, or being attacked by wildlife.

My cat of 8 years died on Sunday there.

I am just gutted. Was hard to watch her final moments. I try not to even think about it, but it's very difficult...

you mean the people who get paid for spaying and neutering your pets say its healthier for them?? Wow, its almost like they are marketing their product or something huh?

Spaying them too early can increase chances of bone cancers as well. I know, my one dog has cancer, and most likely got it because at the time I believed bullshit like that.

So if you do have them neutered wait after there at least a year old and their bones have stopped growing please.
