Also use a circular polarizer for outdoor sunlight shots that you want a deep blue sky and nicely saturated colors

Brian, yes, 8 or 9 years ago you showed me how to shoot 15 sets a day and gave me a few clients, I was grateful and have always remained so. That got me through some tough times although it was short lived because I had bigger plans for the kind of work that I wanted to do. I've thanked you many times over the years for this so it's very interesting that you'd bring this up now.

Remember just a few years ago when you decided to be a writer for tv/movies and you stopped shooting and sold all of your photo equipment? You nearly lost everything and almost got put out on the street, remember that? Was I there to help you though that? Of course. You asked to rent some of my gear and use my assistants, which I gladly agreed to in an effort to help you get back on your feet. Interesting how you make our friendship sound like it was a one-way street. This is classic Brian thinking, you are always a victim.

Ever since I've known you?you've whined about how nobody respected you as a photographer and you thought that they should because you've paid your dues. I respected you greatly years ago because you had the same passion that I had for producing high-quality work. But at some point you lost the fire and decided to be a writer. When you figured out that you were going to starve as a writer, you quickly got back to shooting and made it clear that you have no interest in being a great shooter, making money was your only interest. You can't expect people to have great respect for you as a photographer if your only interest is making money and not making great photography. People can tell if you have a passion for shooting. They can tell when you put your heart & soul into your work and they can tell if producing great work is important to you. You can't brag about your many many years of experience, your abundance of photography knowledge & skills and then back that up by posting amateur pictures featuring skanks, and expect people to have an abundance of respect for you as a photographer.

No, I don't shoot every day like you do... but this is my choice. I've made a decision to work with a select number of clients that actually allow me to experiment, test new ideas and grow as a photographer. This is important to me. If I wanted to be like you and just shoot for the money, I could lower my quality, lower my fees and shoot more often. That's not what I want to do.

I know you'd just love to get into a pissing match with me but my days of pissing with haters here have been over for quite some time. I just find it much easier and much more professional to just add these kinds of people to my ignore list and go on about my life. You can continue to whine, complain and play the victim card if you wish?.I'm done here.

LA sounds like a bro club to me, but in the end of it all no real loyalty.

emai sent: Dean you're completely wrong, I crave no respect as a photographer. I shoot for a membership base. I don't even consider myself a photographer. I'm a content producer that happens to shoot stills... my goal is to improve my stills to satisfy members, not you, not gfy... pretty simple life... not bitter at all... you imagine more than there is going on my man... to be honest about it read your post... you sound like the bitter man you have become... such a shame too... you used to be a pretty nice guy Deano...

i did send off a nice email to JT with some nice samples and references.
not a spam email, but a nice personal email.
didnt hear back, guessing it means he found what he was looking for.
but a short reply would have been commendable..

actually the lighting, the mood and the model expressions are all great.
whats not great is the fact the composition is cropped too high, why not compose it lower to see her bottom and panties etc?
photographer could have instead cropped it higher instead, perhaps below the elbow.
photo editors are very picky with stuff like that.

I agree, composition isn't that great in the photo. Actually in most of my content for my solo girls, it's the first thing I decide isn't a big deal when shooting for my solo girls as it makes every photo take just that couple seconds longer. And when you have to shoot 10-12 sets in a day, its just not realistic to expect perfect composition. maintaining 10-12 sets a day for 20-21 days straight is extremely tough (especially when you still have to put some time aside for continually updating your existing paysites while you are shooting).. plus solo girl fans don't care. Though it is necessary for art sites.

I pay my models 500-1000 a day and shoot them for 3 weeks straight (no breaks). So when it comes down to it, have to shoot as much as you can to increase the profit margin, I just try to find that right balance between quality and profit.

The good thing about shooting for clients who work with high quality content, they pay you well enough to where you dont have to rush things and you can make sure the composure, etc are right.

Sadly there isn't as much money in solo

                          Thank Man,

I am just working on an email to send to him. Been busy shooting in the studio a lot. So havn't been on gfy all the time. That means a lot of me, that you recommend me.

To the point, Dean is right people will talk shit, that is just what they will do. You just have to move on. I am bit lucky, I don't have to deal with as much drama as in L.A., but I still hear shit people say. However once they work with me, it all fads away. Im sure most professional photographers are that way. I refer jobs out to Dean Capture or Jay Allan at least once a month because it is not what I shoot, or it in la, or some other reason. I wouldn't send clients to other people i didn't trust.

I think the point about money the other person was trying to make ( i might be wrong). Is that I have seen, a lot of site try to copy another site, but are not will to pay a lot and they get second rate work. Met Art pays pretty good and they are picky about there work and who they hire and even what type of work they will accept from the photographer. They have in there mind a very clear idea of what they want and are willing to pay to get it. I think that is very important, to clearly understand what you want.

This thread was started like that, not completely understand what you are looking for. Met-art is not a glamour site. so looking for glamour style photographers to shoot met-art style content is almost an oxymoron, however many people will over look that because they don't understand photographer and content.

if you looking for glamour photographer, use Dean. His style is perfectly glamour, warm edge light, nice inside setting. Professional make-up, a classy look. He has glamour workshops, and much more.

                          Looking for glamour content photographers.
                          Need Custom shoots

If you looking for Met-Art style erotic content, well that is not really Dean style. Met-art is often shoot outdoor in nature or natural lighting with some fill. Or indoor with no edge light.
                          Quality similar to Met-art's style
                          solo girls, 18-23 all natural.

I will email some samples and hope for the best

I will email some samples and hope for the best
glad to see you got in this... you're great for the gig IMHO, now as far as negitivity... when a guy posted a poorly composed image shot from an unfaltering angle and then states he's going to revolutionize metart with his amazing photography.... well I call gotta call the guy on that... the only negitivity in this thread came from creepy dean and his bullshit and if you'll read my first reply to Ryan you'll see that... not sure why Ryan then pulled some watermarks off images I shot and posted them... I asked about that, he would not reply...??? BUT he did tell me that he knew that I knew that he knew, I knew blah blah blah... a real Machiavelli for sure....

                                be well....

Last I heard, Met-Art paid around $5 an image for either one time rights or all rights. Has that changed in terms of rate or rights purchased?

For a thread that had someone posting very early "I hope you know what met-art pays", I think it is kinda weird that the thread died as soon as I posted the ballpark I think Met-Art pays. Sheesh, guys, how are buyers supposed to know going rates if everyone always gets jumpy when they are mentioned?
