Girl stopped by and said he was down two homes sitting on the deck. They said he had been crying to get in. Was very glad to see me and started to purr heavily when I held him. He is very tired and looks like he maybe lost a lil weight.

They said he had been walking back and forth from their place to one of my trees on the north side but for some reason would not come around to the south side where I could see him where my front door is. He may have initially come around but I didnt see him.

Seems he was just lost. All the homes looking the same must have thrown him. He went for whatever people he could find.

So back home, I set him down outside the door and he immediately went right in and realized he was home. Began to really purr as I got him some dry, a can of Fancy Feast (beef and chicken, his fav) some milk (which he likes) and water.

He chowed down. Then came over to my bed hopped up, did a quick cleaning all round and crashed. Now he is sitting on a pad between the keyboard and the mointor where he likes to be.

Just had most of another can of Fancy Feast.

Just introduced him to a thick all cotton knitted blanket my mom did by hand. He took right to it. Don't get no better than that.

We're both very happy

WOW! Just had a door to door meat salesman I LET IN.. super smooth and friendy dude.. had 55 steaks all beautifully wrapped for only $80. $1.50/steak. But I passed. He would not sell em individually.

He layed this line on how his wallet was empty (he would show me) and he was out of gas so that is why I got em for $80. I kid you not. They were normally $349 a case on the "brochure" he handed me

I started to "grill him" and he started tripping up but still was friendly and smooth. I love that.

Looked good tho. Told him Id give em $10 for one box (case = 6 boxes all diff steaks, rib eye, tbone, vacuum packed, and all in a sealed case he opened for me.

First time I let a salesman in ever but I'm in a good mood I guess

Buddy looks a lil worse for wear. Def lost weight and was starting to get in real trouble without food. Sleeping in my arms as i type with one hand right now.

3 points I learned about caring for an 8 month old kitten/cat:

1) Do not take your eyes off them EVER Halaluya

Until he knows for SURE where home is which for now he doesnt.

This shouldnt be a prob as Buddy follows me 100% indoors and outside. Had the people not interfered, he would have come home BUT I can no longer take chances at least for now.

We go out together and in together. For a few months more at least.

2) Breakaway colars are GREAT but get an ALL WHITE or light color and write your address and/or phone all round so it is viewed always most easily without the person taking off the collar. Cause people do not read collars. They see collars which is good and know it is someones cat tho.

Do not use a standard collar as they can easily get hung up and choke. Buddy's breakaway collar stayed on all 4 days.

3) If they get lost dont ASSuME they are out having fun. My little guy really was having no fun from the time he first was picked up and transplanted.

It may have done him good but had he not found food or someone contacted me he might have had probs. A hungry little lost guy like him will show up usually at someones house with lots of people outside and just hang around and meow.

So putting up flyers is the best thing and allows some home owner to contact you and get rid of the noisy lil cat who is suddenly hanging around.
