PayPal has asked me the same stuff, if you'll find a company that does Not ask for any scans, That's when you should get worried...

But everyone is free to choose whatever works best for them.

AllAboutCams 03-20-2012 07:10 PM

it took weeks for me to get my account validated

socioporn 03-20-2012 07:56 PM

Oh, really?
How did it turn out you accepted $20k+ loaded from stolen CCs to paxum accounts with those procedures? The money which paxum then withdrew from the third and fourth parties in this dirty story

I never had paypal ask me for scans and ids? Typed in my bank account/credit card information and I was good to go.

They already made sure I am who I say I am. My account is verified.

Read that thread one more time.
It was a direct connection and the only one the lost money is Paxum.

Eugenum 03-21-2012 03:22 AM

I read not only that thread.
It wasn't.
Besides, there are half a dozen of people who lost their money in that story paying for paxum security hole.

Are you missing the part about people already defrauding Paxum by providing fakes of all the shit that they are asking for. This system does nothing to protect anyone...except for maybe Paxum.

Just wanted to address one thing

The scan of Credit Cards was implemented as a direct result of the fraud that you guys keep talking about.

Scanning of credit cards was put in place due to this.

Why don't you just implement a standard charge to the bank account with a verification code that almost everyone else does?

That doesn't require a printer, scanner, a fax and a telegraph device. It's modern. Easy for your clients.

That is what we have always had.

If a person has someones credit card its not a far stretch that they could possibly have access to their online banking.

That must be a pretty lousy security system of that persons bank, but what do I know. Good luck with that new system of yours :)

And apologies for the harsh wording, I just recall the hoops I had to go through to get my account verified and now this to get it funded pissed me off to a point where I wanted to throw my laptop out the window last night.

I'm done. Seller and me found alternative means of payment *shrug* we were also only talking about 2x700 USD.

How long should it take for this random amount to show up in your bank account? I tried to verify last night but nothing shows up.

Just wanted to clarify what i meant by my previous post in regards to it being instant.

I was assuming this user was talking about credit card transactions but he was talking about verifying his bank account.

Bank account verification takes about 6 business days.

I try to talk people in the US into getting a Netspend prepaid card. Cardholder to cardholder transactions are free. You can load them at any western union or by ACH. You just punch in the cardholders username and amount you want to send and the money is transferred to their cards in about 30 seconds. No questions asked. I have quite a few people I move money to and get money from that way.

topwebmodels_chris 03-27-2012 08:19 AM

Its a few small steps to get you started (with Paxum) so my suggestion is do it (once) and you dont have to worry about it again.
