I would rather see two guys go one on one and settle it rather some stupid feud in the media or pretending to be held back by your team mates like in other sports. And trust me I play the game, without fighting you get pussies running around giving out cheap shots

Pre-release preview On-Demand Cable. Watched it last night. Liked it. It isn't a "slapshot" redux or anything like that - based on a real guy.

Some great lines and good hockey locker room humor but when the fuck is someone going to figure out how to shoot/edit game action sequences in hockey movies better?

grew up watching bench clearing brawls, guys going up in the stands to fight drunks in the crowd - NHL thought that the old Rodney Dangerfield joke 'i went to a fight and a hockey game broke out' was costing it mass acceptance in the US so got rid of most of the good stuff. NHL in my opinion is no further ahead without the donnybrooks. In fact, in light of the huge popularity of UFC, violent video games - NHL would be more popular if they brought it back.

my only reservation is the concussion epidemic and the number of sad early endings to the lives of hockey's tough guys.

I did like those movies about don cherry though.. Not exactly a hockey movie as much as a biography but not bad at all...

"The Rocket" about Richard did an ok job but only by virtue of using a lot of people that seemed like they could actually skate, including a few pros.
