Who takes Adderral to be more productive?

Who has or still does take Adderral to help their focus and production. Anyone currently prescribed? I hear it is easy to get addicted. Has anyone gone through an Adderral addiction? I'm just looking for a few personal stories to be shared.

I fucking love ADD meds for getting shit done, but if you are weak and easily dominated by addiction don't try them.

For the last two months I've been part of the clinical trials of an Adderall derivative, without the amphetamine. So far my labs have shown that the administration increases the activity of the phosphoinositol cycle via an indirect release of dopamine and noradrenaline.

More importantly, the labs show the test drug ( NZT ) is a substrate analog at monoamine transporters, at all doses, it prevents the re-uptake of these neurotransmitters by competing with endogenous monoamines for uptake.

Here's a snapshot of my brain activity after administration:

At the higher doses I've been prescibed over the last 15 days it's been shown that, in my system, NZT triggers direct release of norepinephrine and dopamine via the cytoplasmic transmitter pool, that is, NZT causes norepinephrine and dopamine efflux via transporter proteins, functionally reversing transporter action, which triggers a cascading release of catecholamines. This inversion leads to the release of large amounts of these neurotransmitters from the cytoplasm of the presynaptic neuron into the synapse, causing increased stimulation of post-synaptic receptors.

Yesterday I got this weeks dose, which is supposed to be tailored specifically for my genetics, check out the package it came in:

They wanted my my opinion on some of the promo materials they're going to use in June when they officially launch the drug for public use. Evidently I'm in one of the last clinical study groups of many over the last 10 years and the drug is already FDA approved.

I've been prescribed Adderall and haven't developed an addiction to it. I take it sparingly as I have headaches later in the day when I take it, even with adjusted doses.

When I take adderall I am so much more focused and get a lot more work done. I am able to multi-task, and not lose track of projects, conversations, etc. Initially I noticed an energy burst, but my Dr. says it was probably in my head as I expected to have more energy when taking it. After a week or so, those faded and I became more productive.

I still forget to take it (I dont' like pills) and have to set a reminder for myself. I never take it on weekends or days that I plan to be on the phone a lot. I can carry a conversation on WAY too long, and I already talk enough as it is. lol.

I do notice I am not as hungry when I take it, so I have to set reminders for myself to eat lunch, etc or I will go all day without eating or drinking water. I've learned to NEVER take adderall before a workout as it increases my heart rate. I thought I was going to die 15 minutes into cardio (elliptical) warm-up. My heart was beating out of my chest on what shouldn't have caused me much stress.

Overall I feel I was correctly diagnosed and treated with Adderall. It's a learning process to really learn how your body reacts to it.

I take 20mg XR and its night and day difference when I take it and I don't take it.

XR is way better than the normal instant release version.

adderral seems to be the new hollywood "it" drug.

i've seen people take them while partying or just for major deadlines.

personally i couldnt stand it. it suppressed my appetite and i was so shaky i couldnt think clearly.

Adderral as really big when I was in college a decade ago and now it seems to be a great party drug.

This older chick my friend was talking to a few weeks ago drove us home from the bars. Me, being the nosey person I am, was looking around at shit in her back seat and found a Rx for Adderral. I asked "who's is this?" and she responded with "I got a prescription for my 9 year old sun, but I take it or sell it ha ha ha"

                                fucked up

I'm not into taking meds, but damn, my attention span is all over the place. When I can focus, holy shit, I get so much done. Seems lately though, I am just bouncing all over the fucking place. Currently, 8 tabs open, reading different websites, watching stocks, I can't focus on shit. Just not into take meds for the rest of my life.

I have the opposite problem. I take something so I can stop focusing, otherwise I'd never step away from the keyboard.

I take 20mg XR and its night and day difference when I take it and I don't take it.

XR is way better than the normal instant release version.
Yeah I haven't considered the XR as the price is night and day difference vs XR on my insurance. My Dr told me that since I work from home I shouldn't need the extended release...

Water might very well be the case. as I mentioned I have to set reminders to drink water and eat lunch when I am taking it.

It's 'biphetamine salts', which is a marketers way of saying it's a mixture of benzedrine and dexedrine - sometimes in a time released version. As I recall.

So, it's about midway in strength between what used to be called white crosses and black beautys.

About a quarter of the strength of meth, which is called methedrine, and shorter acting.

I've been in the same place the last couple of weeks. I've been right in the middle of an important task, and I just instantly divert to go look at a movie review, or read some forums. It's been fucking annoying because I'm in the middle of a huge job.

The last 3 days I've been doing a hard workout in the morning(sprints) -- and strangely enough, I've been able to focus. Today was the most productive day I've had in weeks.

take it for what its worth.

Anyone else prescribed, just want to hear some personal experiences.
Works well as long as you take days off in between because you can build a tolerance rather quickly.

After using it on and off for a while I've noticed this:

When you first begin using it, you get a euphoric feeling. Couple this with the amount of clarity you'll enjoy makes you suddenly become quite ambitious. You feel like you can finally tackle all of the things you've only thought about here and there.

This ambition will lend itself to the urge for you to abuse the drug because you're getting more done. You end up committing to too many things and spreading yourself very thin because you feel like you will always function at this level. You'll want to use it more and more because you start to forget how functional you were without it.

When you stop using the drug for a while, you'll be very tired and have brain fog. This lasts for several days - you have to pay for all of that over-stimulation at some point! During this time it's easy to think you won't be able to get anything done that day so you'll take another pill just to get functional again. This just compounds the problem.

Coming off of adderall "binges" takes a good 2 weeks before you start feeling "normal" again. So keep that in mind and be prepared to deal with it when the time comes INSTEAD of putting more pills in your mouth. Please note that when I say binges I mean AMOUNT + DURATION - not just amount. My "binges" would be 2-3 weeks long (about 1 or 2days off a week) and at max 30mg per day but on average about 20mg (10mg 2x). This isn't "a lot" compared to what other people use - but it still is adderall. Don't think just because other people are slamming 100mg a day that doing 20mg a day is any better. In the end just think of it as all the same - you're taking adderall.

Also, if you're using it to get things done MAKE SURE you have a to-do list ALREADY written out in front of you. Turn off your phone, block GFY, Facebook, or anything else distracting. It's easy to get side tracked and lose a good 2-3 hours on something stupid.

One other thing I noticed after using adderall for a while. Your creativity is great at first but after a while you begin to get "tunnel vision" and are only able to focus in a straight line (for lack of a better explanation). You're so laser targeted it's difficult to see the big picture. I suppose this is normal for the drug to keep people focused but it definitely makes conceptualizing things more difficult or damn near impossible. More adderall doesn't help this!

                                                            Have fun

May talk to my DR. this Thursday.
