Read the plate in this video and catch a criminal

So I am sitting in my hot tub drinking coffee on the phone when some asshole drives up my mountain and parks above my house and dumps 8 huge bags of trash in my woods.

As this was going on I grab my cell phone and shoot a crappy video (which was set on black and white) of them driving past me.

There are a few "clearish" frames where if I had the right equipment the plate can be read and it will not import as is into my Photoshop CS4.

Cops just left and said if I can get a plate they will cite them for dumping and trespassing.

Thanks for that explanation.

My story may have been misinterpreted.

Drinking coffee (just waking up) in the hot tub (naked with wet hands that failed to work the cell phone right) and on the phone (that's why I had my phone as I ran away from my house in my robe to the street below) explains why the picture is so bad and I wasn't smart enough to grab a real camera right by the front door.

If it seemed like I was trying to paint an "I am too cool" picture it wasn't. It is more like I am not a morning guy and this surprised me explanation.

Thanks barcodes. you did a million times better than I did.

I may have sounded like a pompous douche and the shots were so poor and shaky as I was trying to flip into color mode.

making prints and going down to the police station. This is the 3rd time in a year someone has down this to me. Kind of ironic since on my spare time at least once a week I volunteer to clean up local parks.

No problem. I spent more time on uploading those images than editing the movie.
I figure there is enough clarity for them to find a number that matches that vehicle.

I took the images off because I think you aren't supposed to put anything on here showing personal info on anyone.
You may want to take that pic out of the quote just to be safe.

Don't think that applies to criminals!

It is real important that people that come into here and do bad things get caught as we have no neighbors. Very rarely can the sheriff respond quickly as well. As a result we get a lot of meth head from surrounding areas come in and do home invasions. We all are armed up here as no one can hear you if you need help or witness anything as well.

For what it's worth, I checked out the vid frame by frame and couldn't see shit. To be totally honest, I can't wish you luck in catching the guy since I've done a fair amount of fly tipping in my time.

Going through the garbage and based upon my secluded location it is clear that the perp was a cleaner from one of the local cabin companies. This is a holiday high volume weekend and they dumped because more cabins needed cleaning and they didn't want to wait until the trash drop off station opens Monday or unload their truck. Obviously they work for a company without a compacter.

There is only 1 trash dump station in this part of the county so I am offering a $100 reward Monday to any dump personnel who can get me a full plate and the name of who they work for.

I am so kicking myself for not grabbing a real camera and this was a lesson as to how poor cell phone video is.

After picking everything up and loading it on my trailer, it totaled 12 large black trash bags - more than I am allowed to dump in one trip. I am pretty sure they will let me slide this time as I usually give them cold bottles of water in the summer and sometime hot coffee on cold days.

I do not know where you live but that's NO crime........that's a by-law infraction, and you would need to ID the person who was driving to get a conviction..... for a somewhat low fine.....like here it would be about $100

$500 fine here not counting the fact they were trespassing with intent (they had to drive by a billboard sign saying so) and yes, I will press charges. I can assure you they will lose their job.
