Any poker player in here? Bad beat story...

I just came back from a 1-3 NL holdem game.
Buy in is $500.

I lost it all with a straight flush, 4 and 5 of diamond VS 9-10 of diamond.

Flop: 6-8 of dimamond with a k.

Turn: 7 of diamond.

River: another 7 to pair de board.

Another guy was in the hand, he had put around $200 to chase with the A of dimaond.

It's the worst bad bead I ever experienced.

I've been playing poker for over 10 years, I have seen, maby 10 straigh flush...
It's the first time I see two in the same hand hehe.

I was expecting a really terrible story but I must say that is a hell of a beat. Worst I had was for a just under $1000 pot when he rivered a straight flush to beat my full house at the Venetian. That was pretty gross but yours is so interesting because you both had it on the turn. I'd be surprised if you both contained your excitement, boners probably hit the underside of the table on the turn

I think that was me ;)

That's a bad beat for sure... in poker you just have to realize there are hands you're just going to ride to the end and if you're beat you're beat. A straight flush is one of them, there's absolutely nothing you can do to get out of the way of that. Especially at a 1-3 table. I might think about folding them for a 25k raise, but I'd only think about it for a millisecond. Right after that I'd push all my chips in.

My worst ever:

I held KK.

Flop - K,7,2

At this point I am loving it. I check. Two guys bet. I then raise. One guy folds the other pushes all in and I call. The pot was about $400 (I held about $500 in chips be he was fairly low)

I have trip K's. He is holding Q-7. The only way he can beat me is to get runner runner 7 and make quads. That is exactly what happens.

Luckily, I ended up basically going home even, but that beat was hard to take and actually it was one of the last times I ever played poker.

That would fucking suck, jesus. At 1-3 table you can't lay that down, period. I don't know what stakes you COULD lay that down at. Maybe against the tightest player known to man.

Last week I got some idiot all in for over $200 .. preflop.. at 1/2 game .. I had KK and he had T9o .. 4th and 5th are a nine and a ten respectively

What can ya do

My luck ALWAYS goes that way when I am in the state of Kansas anyway though
I don't even believe in luck

they do have the ability to create clubs now which is pretty cool. have any of you messed around with this?

well, thats poker I guess! doesn't really happen often though .. people rarely hit straight flushes...

now for some feel good poker story .. sunday night playing at the Venetian Macau ... I have around 2300HKD ($293)in front of me.. I am the big blind and I am looking down at pocket Kings...

the whole table limps .. untill it goes to the button .. button raises 200HKD ... I call .. guy next to me calls ... guy in middle position raises to 1100HKD ... everyone folds to the button.. the original raiser.. he pushes all in ..

I think for a moment .. and call .. guy next to me calls .. guy that raised to 1100HKD calls as well..

I was short stack on the table at that time .. so everybody that calls covers me! so now we are looking at a 4 way all in pre-flop

flop comes K57 turn 4 river 9

I flop top set and take down this monster pot!!! around 9000HKD $1159

was pretty sick hand... the guy next to me had pocket 8 .. the guy that raised to 1100HKD had pocket A .. the button was just making a play with 7 4 off suite.. kind of funny that he ended up taking down the side pot with two pair....

tl;dr 4 way all in @Venetian Macau on 10 - 25HKD table ... go from short stack , to big stack pocket K flop set and crush AA

and oh yeah .. if you really have been playing poker live for 10 years .. you should know by now that nobody wants to hear a bad bead story

the only stories poker players want to hear are sick hands and monster pots

so you hitting your set on the flop .. and the river makes it quads for you and opponent hits his nut flush .. and goes all in! thats the story I want to hear!!

That must have been hard to get over.. I had an experience with this too when I'm holding a AA. Flop comes with A,5,J. turns K.. Still ahead with trips.. Then comes the river with a 4... Yeah, I got beaten with a guy holding a 2,3...

The worst part is that they stopped offering the bad bead jackpot 2-3 months ago and replaced it with a rakeback...

I could see it if you had 4 cards on the board and you were holding lower 5th one, but don't think if I had two in the hole I would be able to lay it down.

With a pair on the board that much money shouldnt have gone in the pot with "just" a ace high flush

My worst night (not in losing but in bad luck) was like this:

I'm up to $2K on a $200 buy in within an hour.
Then within 3 hands I'm done.

1. I hit a straight on the flop, raise raise and before the river a dude goes all in.
Call, the guy has a full house on the river. I'm down to $1.2

2. I hit a high flush on the flop, raise raise and before the river I get called all in by another dude.
Call, the guy has a full house on the river. . I'm down to $500

3. I hit another flush on the flop, go all in right off the bat. Get called. Guess the race?
Dude has a full house, on the river.
