The poll questions are a bit skewed. "Question the government's story" - of course we question. Any thinking person questions. That doesn't mean we all get the same answer.
The funny thing is that not everyone questions the conspiracy theories - some blindly believe anything a random blogger claims. For example, the conspiracy nuts claim that thousands of gallons of hyrocarbon fuel can't soften steel. Anyone who has ever worked with steel knows that's absolutely wrong. At even 400° F structural steel is noticeably softer than at 80° F. A few minutes playing with a propane torch or a good campfire and you can see that for yourself.
At 1350F, steel turns to austinite. Jet fuel in an enclosed space burns at about 1900F.Last edited by raymor; 03-09-2012, 06:05 PM.For historical display only. This information is not current:

Some people on the extreme left believe this nonsense too. They usually blame Bush, Cheney, the new world order or some combination thereof.
When you consider that Clinton couldn't even keep an Oval Office blowjob secret, how anyone with half a brain can imagine the government pulling off a bogus 9/11 is something I'll never understand.Comment

Your argument is fundamentally flawed. The towers did _NOT_ fall at free fall speed.Originally posted by JohnnyClipsAnd does that steel completely melt and fall at free fall speed? NO
See, you can't even get the most basic of facts straight and yet you think you're qualified to come to conclusions. Amazing..Comment

It doesn't matter what the specific "conspiracy theory" may be. You either believe the government, or you don't. Once you say you don't, then you question some or all of the government's "facts" and low and behold... you are a truther (ie someone who seeks to find the truth).
I don't see the problem with the poll's wording at all. Same end game.

there is a difference between a natural skepticism towards the official narrative and taking on the beliefs that make up the 9/11 conspiracy religion. It doesn't matter what the specific "conspiracy theory" may be. I don't believe you can lump all "truthers" together. Personally I don't believe missiles were fired into the towers for example, but I do question other aspects of the story.
The physics debates annoy the hell out of me, but some other people will fight tooth-and-nail over those distractions, and that's their thing. No big deal.Comment

you have to think of it like a religion. sure they have their catholic, protestant and evangelical wings but there are central tenants held by all.I don't believe you can lump all "truthers" together. Maybe so, but surprisingly, 80% of respondents so far, have voted in favor of believing the government's story, lock, stock, and barrel. The mind boggles...Originally posted by JohnnyClipsBelieving the government = faith in authorityComment

The Earth is round, Einstein.Originally posted by JohnnyClipsIt's called propaganda/mind control. It's not that ridiculous at all when you look at it from a certain perspective. I mean just a few hundred years ago people thought the earth was round and you were "crazy" for thinking otherwise. Mind control is a wonderful thing

poll is totally flawed. rejecting conspiracy theory does not equal not questioning the government and is a major flaw in thinking on behalf of the so called truthers.
didnt vote since there is no option that suits me, I question the government and I question the truthers and I have found the truthers stance to be the one that doesn't add up.
no doubt 911 has been exploited by government for all sorts of things.Comment

Im sorry your mind is too limited to see the options available that you need to group people such.. I understand it is always simpler to see things in black and white.Comment
