Funny, you used to literally spam this forum selling "pay tube sites" to noobs for tens of thousands and ripping them off. I will admit though, that was a step up from the clip store sites you were selling. Hats off to you for surviving this economy by continuing to fuck people over.

As I said before... I do not care if you do not like me. That is your own problem. You can keep making new nicks, coming back and playing dumb like you're new, attacking myself and business within 10 posts, and continuing until banned per usual. That is a choice you repeatedly make.
I think it's safe to say most adults would simply put me on ignore if you can't control yourself, or simply avoid that person. While I concede the point it takes some level of maturity, something you apparently lack, it can be done.

RockstarVPS, terrible.
Hello all, I've been through many hosting companies through the past two years (ubhosting, burstnet, honelive, magistar-networks, and probably 1-2 more that I'm forgetting) but I have never seen such despicable customer service from anybody besides my ISP. Here is the problem:
I found out about Rockstarvps from my friend who was browsing this website and linked me (I was hosting stuff for him too and we both looked for a nice cheap server, but that is sort of irrelevant I guess). Anyways, I can commend RockstarVPS on the fact that they have an excellent spec/price ratio. For about $5/month you get 1GB of RAM and 1000GB of bandwidth which is pretty nice considering it's so cheap; but be warned:
I now know to use more reputable web hosting companies, even for the price premium. RockstarVPS has been nothing but trouble and I'm here so that some of you don't make the same mistake that I did. Here is my story (probably going to be a long read!):
I signed up with Rockstarvps promotional hosting plan (which ends at the end of this month) to host some servers for me and my friends. I hosted a teamspeak server, a mysql server (just for a bit, and it was pretty much empty) and some fairly empty doom servers along with the usual apache. Maybe about two weeks later I'm informed by a Rockstarvps sysop that game servers are actually not allowed on the promotional hosting plan for whatever reason. I didn't exactly remember reading this in the ToS that I agreed to, but I figured I must've just missed it, excused myself for my mistake and assured them I wouldn't host game servers on my VPS again.
I was curious because I don't think I'd actually be that stupid to make a mistake like that (especially when I need it to host game servers) so I figure I should re-read the terms of service again. To my surprise, I find that it actually doesn't mention anywhere on the ENTIRE WEBSITE that I am not allowed to host game servers. Weird? I tell that to the Rockstarvps sysop and he assured me it is from the ToS, even quoting it in his post:

To be honest, I kind of assumed they would edit their terms of service to reflect this, so I made sure to take before and after screenshots of the ENTIRE ToS, and since pictures are worth a thousand words:

They also have a convenient clock at the bottom that basically timestamps the pictures. Look at the "streaming" section at the bottom and you'll see the edit.
Fine, I take it, whatever. They tell me they'll upgrade me to a game hosting plan for $15/mo instead of the $5/mo I was paying. A couple of days later my server goes down, I shrug it off once it comes back online a day later. I don't actually re-start any of my services except for a teamspeak server me and my friend have been using for World of Warcraft. A day after this incident a sysop replies to my ticket (not pertaining to the subject about the ToS at all, he should directly emailed me or opened a new topic (not that I mind but it would just make more sense)) telling me that I'm using too much CPU on the server and that they're going to suspend my VPS. Now I actually didn't know of this until they suspended my VPS with LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE. Seriously? Now I see a couple of problems here: I don't actually run too much to warrant a suspension and that I've been hosting the exact same thing on my previous company (ubhosting) with a VPS that was worse than the current one.
I'm fine with this. I made a PHP script that users could access online (provided they had a password) to start up some Skulltag (doom 2 online) servers, but there was never any more than 2, maybe 3 servers online at once. The thing though, after the initial reboot, I didn't even start apache or any of the normal stuff I run, I just ssh'd into my server to start my teamspeak server. I highly doubt a teamspeak server could use enough CPU power to warrant a suspension, and while I'm not completely sure (hey, who knows, maybe I was somehow using too much CPU power with only a teamspeak server) I believe that the sysop was just mad with me or something. Yikes.
After I told him that I would remove whatever program/programs were using so much CPU power he basically just slapped me in the face with a "I don't think you can lower your CPU usage. Your account is going to stay suspended." Really? Instead of even TRYING to help me (I would have gladly removed whatever it is they wanted) they basically kick me in the balls. Excellent customer service.
Anyways, I'm pretty dissatisfied with this company and I advise you not to purchase a server from them. I may have been rude or just plain out angry during some of the tickets (although I don't think it was that bad) you have to understand that after a company deliberately changes their ToS on you and uses it as proof against you that you'll have a hard time believe anything else they tell you. They now take about 30 hours to respond to my tickets (they took about 1-2 hours before) so I don't expect to get anything achieved by talking to them, but perhaps I can share my amazing experience! WOW!I doubt you will get a refund from them. The guy who represents them here can be a complete jerk. He talks down to people like he is some kind of god. I am so glad that I didn't sign up. He was going to cancel me anyway after I told him what I thought about his rude replies.

Anyone who reads this board and knows barefootsies knows that as soon as any of the former customer testimonials mention that support was rude, they are talking about the guy we've all come to know and love. He talks about different departments, when it's more than likely him and a helper or two...tops.
I haven't bothered with this thread after posting what I posted. But everything that I posted was 100% truth and happened to both myself and a friend/client I set up as well.Comment

When people get terminated for abuse, or get turned away from signing up because they can't pass MaxMind fraud checks, or are in a blacklisted/blocked country, I am sure that they would think any hosting company doing it is "rude" as previously pointed out.
Barefootsies is not a network admin, doesn't want to be, nor claims to be. I own/finance the company. I have hired others, who have the network admin experience and knowledge, that basically run 99% of the hosting businesses and the daily operations.
No one said you did not make back ups for your "mission critical" data and then cried about it later. No one denied that you had to sneak on using your GF's name instead of your own.
That being said, you guys like to highlight the bad testimonials, and leave out the good. Not that I am surprised by any means. As I said previously, candyflip is notorious for bending to truth to suit his personal agenda. Look at any 'Barefootsies' thread and it's pretty clear no matter the topic.
While we're not perfect by any means, there are positive reviews out there as well.

If you look at most threads over my history, who am I rude too? The same shitheads to have repeatedly attacked, and trolls myself, or my business for dozens of threads. Most of them have been banned repeatedly or banned for life. Yet continue to do it and never learn their lesson. Even when I typically ignore them, they never miss an opportunity to try and make the thread about 'Barefootsies' or some other petty bullshit.
When sane people talk to me in a normal manner, whether a friendly discussion or disagreement, rarely am I rude to them. Even some of the people I do not care for personally, I will still remain civil. I can disagree with them, but that doesn't mean I am being rude because I do not concede their point.
If you look through my history on any forum, you will find that I am typically only rude or condescending to those who've been rude to me first. If you're going to be attacking myself, or my business (much less repeatedly for YEARS), you can expect me to get annoyed and rude, as anyone would. Same as if I was attacking YOUR livelihood repeatedly for YEARS. I doubt few are going to sit on the sidelines and allow it peacefully.
I've never claimed to be a nice guy to people who repeatedly attack myself, or my business interests. Those who simply can't get over their Barefootsies obsession fetish and waste countless hours of their lives with his nonsense for their personal vendettas. I can only assume they lead lonely hate filled lives if strangers on a message board make them act like this.
As a fast growing hosting company, we are not perfect, nor claim to be. We are going to have speed bumps the same as a Burst, Webair or many other companies who have had bad PR at some point. People do not like our website? Big fucking deal. MOJO's is old and out of date, as is Way3 (no offense gents, love you guys) or many others in the marketplace. Yet their businesses thrive just fine regardless of a ugly or 'pretty website'. I am sure we will survive as well.

You really are just making yourself look like a desperate idiot. It doesn't hurt myself, or my business. There is no mass exodus. People are still signing up, and/or rebilling like a champ. I'm still LOLing at whomever said I bankroll RockstarVPS. I was just catching up on GFY while drinking my coffee this morning and glad to be paying attention to details. Who are you, anyways? Kudos on doing a traceroute.. AFAIK Barefootsies is a wholesale customer of a wholesale customer and neither them nor us have anything to do with these peoples experiences beyond providing great network, data center and bare metal.
