I believe it's the coat itself reflecting what's behind it, not a film

"For the best effect - one that keeps the correct depth of focus - the observer needs to look through a pinhole."

Also, note that the example referred to is a photo, not a live event. I believe another article mentions that external cameras were used. So it really isn't there yet, but it could be very cool and its not a bad start.
