I live in the boondocks. If you are not armed here you are stupid. Few months back at like 1 AM I heard gunshots that sounded like they were right at the edge of my property. Sounded like someone shot of a full clip from a ar15. Called the cops took them a hour to get out here. While waiting on the cops I stayed in the house with all the lights on, I didn't go outside looking for someone to shoot. The cop was a real ass didn't even want to look around the property. Six months before that someone stole a 4 wheeler and a small motorcycle. That's when I fenced the property in. I have lights everywhere, signs everywhere, 4 dogs. I don't want to shoot anyone ever.

You have obviously have never been robbed, if you had you would understand why people arm themselves. I don't want to kill anyone. Hell I don't even hunt or fish. I think killing any kind of animal for sport is sick and pathetic. I sure as hell don't want to shoot anyone.

It's going to depend on where you live.

Those who live in already positive communities will help each other. Those who live in chaos, inner city areas, around poverty and current violence, are in a world of shit.

All one needs to do is look at what happened after hurricane Katrina to see how some areas are going to play out. And truth be told, in a lawless society, I'd be surprised if some serious racially motivated crimes didn't start happening. Inner city black and rednecks having at it, because you know they won't be working together.

I think most people who laugh at preppers or say it is worthless to prepare have never been robbed, looted, or been in a situation to see just how ugly people can get and how fast things can break down.

never heard of that one before...not sure how the Gov could say anyone had over 1 years supplies stocked up..how would they determine that?

example :

its a well know fact people should consume 8-12 glasses of water a day

8bottles of water per day = 270 bottles a month x 12 =3,240 bottles a year = 270 cases of water.

would the gov consider having 300 cases of water stockpiling or 271?
