to be honest i do like nokia
the trubel is even when they were popular the phones had bugs.
i have had my nokia for ages but this month the screen went unless i heated the phone up, so i have had to put my sim in a cheap (very cheap as in £10 samsung phone).
nakia was greedy in the past. ie, a different charger for each phone and a silly headset conection.
its the same with palm. great machines but got expensive once you got the add ons and softwear.
today palm could have been the iphone.
the selling point of the iphone is the aps. they are cheap.
the key is if you sell a machine, maqke the softwear cheap and easy to buy, make the things to add to it universal.
nokias could become big if it just makes a cameraphone that takes great pics and vids. if the quality is better than iphone then its a big game changer.Comment

That's not my point.
41MP SOUNDS cool but is most likely not very good if the chip isn't big.
In order to cramp down 41MP on a small chip, you'd have to make each sensor/transistor(whatever call them) smaller to make it all fit. That means each one is less sensitive.
Bigger chip, bigger transistors.
Smaller chip, smaller transistors.
I would take an old full frame 8MP over that 41MP any day unless I'd actually now anything about the chip size.Comment

Windows Phone 7 hasn't made much traction. I still don't know a single person with a WP7 phone.
They can work as hard as they want, but it'll only gain them a few % points if it does.
Android owns the Market and Apple picks up just about everyone else. Those two together have it locked down.Comment

My wife exclaimed the other day when looking at a potential phone, "it only has 5 megapixels"
I tried to explain to her that more megapixels packed into a tiny phone sensor would actually reduce quality. Not that she ever does anything more than look at the pics on her phone, or occasionally upload them to facebook (~1.2 megapixels max)
I was losing the argument so I didn't point out that the lens on her current 8.1 megapixel phone was grubby and scratched.Comment
